RESUMO

Inflammatory odontogenic cysts are benign osteolytic asymptomatic lesions and can destroy the surrounding bone and let it infected. The term residual cyst is used most often for retained radicular cyst from teeth that has been removed. Residual cysts are among most common cysts of the jaws. It can be concluded that early detection and accurate diagnosis are essential for the proper treatment of the residual cysts. This case report reveals some of the technical considerations in managing huge maxillary midline residual cyst surgically.

RESUMO

Most common developmental odontogenic cysts are dentigerous cysts. They are usually derived from the epithelial remnants of tooth forming organs. Dentigerous cysts gradually increase in size. There may also be associated with bone resorption. Developmental odontogenic cysts account for 25% of all odontogenic cysts of the jaw. They are commonly associated with impacted or embedded teeth like mandibular/maxillary third molar and maxillary canines. It is always better to manage dentigerous cyst conservatively and thereby maintain the vitality of adjacent structures.

RESUMO

Dentigerous cysts form by accumulation of fluid between reduced enamel epithelium and the crown of an unerupted tooth. They cause several difficulties such as swelling, non-eruption of the involved teeth, and displacement of adjacent teeth, and thus require early detection and prompt treatment. Treatment ranges from marsupialisation to enucleation. We report a case of a 20-year-old boy with an impacted central incisor in the maxillary region. The tooth was completely placed in proximity to the nasal floor. Surgical removal of the impacted central incisor was performed under local anesthesia without disturbing the floor of the nose and granulation tissue was sent for hisptopathological diagnosis. Hisptopathological diagnosis reveals dentigerous.

RESUMO

In 1968 Mc Caffery defined pain as “Whatever the experiencing person says it is whenever he/she says it does” Pain is the most common reason individuals seek health care. Pain control in Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery is an important factor for reducing the fear Department of Oral and Maxillofacial and anxiety associated with dental procedures. In dentistry, local Bharati Vidyapeth Dental College anaesthetics form the backbone for pain control. This case report highlights the implication of splash block technique in enucleation a maxillary midline Contact no: +91-8552887325 residual cyst which would otherwise be operated under general anesthesia owing to its proximity to nasal floor.
