Maximum mouth opening was studied in five hundred adults ranging from 18-60 years. The measurements were taken three times and greatest opening was recorded. Results showed values in males than the females

Evaluation of dexamethasone and ibuprofen combination: the reduction of post surgical sequelae of mandibular third molar

To determine the efficacy of dexamethasone in combination with ibuprofen for reducing pain, swelling and trismus. Fifty patients having bilateral impacted mandibular third molar. Right side of the patient was put into study group and left side as control by giving l/M lnj of 8 mg dexamethasone and sterile H[2]O respectively followed by ibuprofen 400 mg 6 hourly for 5 days. The patients towards study side reported significantly less pain, swelling and trismus as compared to those in the control group

Treatment choices in trigeminal neuralgia: a 3 years audit

The outcome of treatment for trigeminal neuralgia was evaluated in 350 patients treated with medication, alcohol injection, cryotherapy and peripheral neurectomy. Out of 350 patients 115 were treated with medication, 104 had peripheral neurectomy, 97 alcohol injections and 34 by cryosurgery. Pain free period was maximum after neurectomy and medication followed by cryotherapy and alcohol injection apart from their complications. Outcome data can be used to help new patients make informed choices about their treatment under local anaesthesia
