RESUMO

The initial medical certificate [IMC] constitutes an absolutely necessary medico-legal document and is part and parcel of the practice of medicine. It corresponds to formal criteria which are essential to give to the basis of this document all the objective value and force which ensues from it in order to vindicate the claimants' rights. So, we are undertaking this work with the purpose of presenting a data base developed on the Access software which enabled us to solve the problems that we have been noting in our everyday practice in the Emergency Department of Farhat Hached Hospital in Sousse. It consists, in fact, of having complete, clear, precise, orderly and correctly filed documents. Moreover, ovoing to this application, we could save a precious time, avoid redundancy and follow through the persons who have been repeatedly aggressed, which makes us think of prevention. The authors are reporting their own experience of the development of an application on a computer of data base for the issue of initial medical certificates. This work has been performed on the Access software. After having reminded of the issue of initial medical certificates [I.MC] laid down in the regulations, they are listing the advantages of computing in this field and the repercussions concerning the follow-up, the operating and the numerical storage
