RESUMO
In a study of 105 cases of thyroid enlargement 12 were diagnosed as Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Hashimoto's thyroditis is predominantly a disease of females. All the twelve cases of this series were subjeced to FNAC and ten were tested for antithyroid antibodies T[g] and T[m]. FNAC is a reliable, safe and easy way of diagnosing Hashimoto's thyroiditis, but in early stages when cytological changes are not marked antibody estimation is of definite advantage in reaching a conclusive diagnosis
