RESUMO

In a survey on intestinal helminthes among stray cats in Dakahlia Governorate, Dipylidium caninum were the most predominant [43.1%], followed by Toxocara cati [38.5%], Haplorchis yokogawai [35.4%], Pygidiopsis genata [29.2%], Heterophyes heterophyes [21.5%], Prohemistomum vivax [15.4%], Echinochasmus perfoliatus [7.7%] and Hydatigera taeniaeformis [6.2%]. The potential dangers of these parasites to man are discussed

RESUMO

The seasonal incidence of Ancylostoma duodenale infection in Kafr-blolah [Kotor Centre], Gharbia Governorate was high during summer and spring seasons [83.3% and 60% respectively]. The over all incidence of infection was 22.9%. Most of the infected individuals were discharging less than 500 egg per gram stool [10.5% males and 11.9% females] while mild infection was 4.1% males and 4.5% females and severe infection was 6.5% males and 8.1% females. Anaemia was more marked among highly infected individuals discharging more than 2000 eggs/gram stool and the hemoglobin reached 8.7 gram/100 C.C. blood while in mild and low infections, the hemoglobin reached 12.2 and 13.1 gram/100 C.C. blood

In comparison with stool examination, the skin test detected 87.09% of infections. The antigen possesses a high degree of specificity [90.19%]. RESUMO

The relationship between the size of T. vaginalis and the clinical signs in infected female patients was studied. Small-sized T. vaginalis was associated with acute signs, whereas large-sized T. vaginalis was associated with chronic signs. The relationship between T. homonis and T. vaginalis is a mere association. Each species has its own specific habitat

RESUMO

In a survey on protozoa in the intestine of rats from the Dakahlia Governor ate, Giardia Sp. were the most predominent [32.2%] followed by Entamoeba muris [19.2%]. Eimeria Sp.,E. histolytica and Trichomonas muris have a more or less the same incidence. Chilomastix muris was a rare protozoon [3.2%]. The epidemiological significance of the results was discussed
