RESUMO

Trace metals deficiency or excess are associated with the etiology and pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Aconiti Radix Cocta(A) and Paeoniae Radix Alba(B) are commonly used together for the treatment of RA. In this study, we aim to determine anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability in the compatibility of herb A and B for avoiding metal deficiency or excess, and optimize the combination ratio of herb A and B, accordingly. Anti-arthritic-related metal bioaccessibility were evaluated by in vitro simulator of all gastrointestinal tract(including mouth, stomach, small and large intestines), and the roles of gastrointestinal digestive enzymes and intestinal microflora were investigated. Anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability was assessed by the affinity adsorption with liposomes. The results indicated that compatibility proportion of corresponding herbal plants, gastrointestinal digestion and microbial metabolic, which could affect metal digestion and absorption. The optimal compatibility proportion of 1 A∶1 B is recommended, according to the dose of anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability, which is often chosen for clinical practice of RA therapy. Thus, anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability might be the key active substances for RA treatment.

RESUMO

Study on the characteristics of Chinese materia medica (CMM) for treating liver disease in CMM standard based on data mining and theory of syndrome differentiation and treatment. To analyze the prescriptions of oral Chinese patent medicine (CPM) for liver disease treatment of China Pharmacopoeia, China Pharmacopoeia·Clinical Medication Notice [2010 edition (CMM vol.)] and Drug standard of Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China; Excel statistical analysis software was used to frequency analysis, using SAS 9.1 statistical analysis software as a data mining platform to carry out the association rules analysis. In 114 prescriptions for the treatment of liver disease, 246 herbs were involved. A cluster analysis was used to analyze 27 herbs with high frequency ( ≥ 10) of usage, which were classified into nine clusters including complement virtual medicine, medicine for regulating qi, promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis, antipyretic, diuretics for eliminating dampness drugs, cathartic, and astringent drug. Eighteen pairs of herbs and 20 pairs of three herbs for oral CPM for liver disease treatment were obtained by association rule analysis. Combined with the characteristics of disease medication. the data mining and the theory of syndrome differentiation and treatment can help to interpret the law and characteristics of CMM in the treatment of liver disease.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of local vibration on blood-lipids and whole blood viscosity.

METHODSThe total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), whole blood viscosity, apolipoprotein (Apo-), red blood cell (RBC), platelet (PLT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), serum-protein, postprandial blood sugar (PBS), and serum-protein of experimental and control workers were detected. The difference of the means and abnormal rates of two groups were compared.

RESULTSThe means of TG, TC, HDL in exposed group [(1.01 +/- 0.85), (3.25 +/- 0.61), (1.14 +/- 0.20) mmol/L respectively] were significantly lower than that of control group [(1.89 +/- 1.47), (3.87 +/- 0.82), (1.22 +/- 0.26) mmol/L, respectively, P < 0.01 or P < 0.05]. Apo-A was also decreased [(1.13 +/- 0.29) g/L vs (1.23 +/- 0.16) g/L, P < 0.01]. The mean of whole blood viscosity were significantly increased in exposed group [(2.76 +/- 0.42) mPa.s vs (2.54 +/- 0.33) mPa.s, P < 0.01]. The abnormal rate of Apo-A was significantly higher in exposed group (23.30%) than that in control (4.50%, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONLocal vibration may induce decrease in blood lipids, increase in blood viscosity and changes in some other blood parameters.
