RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To study the clinical value of serum neuroglobin in evaluating hypoglycemic brain injury in neonates.@*METHODS@#A total of 100 neonates with hypoglycemia were enrolled as subjects. According to amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG) findings and/or clinical manifestations, they were divided into symptomatic hypoglycemic brain injury group (n=22), asymptomatic hypoglycemic brain injury group (n=37) and hypoglycemic non-brain injury group (n=41). The three groups were compared in terms of blood glucose, duration of hypoglycemia, levels of neuroglobin and neuron-specific enolase (NSE), and modified aEEG score. The correlation of neuroglobin with NSE and modified aEEG score was analyzed. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was plotted.@*RESULTS@#Compared with the asymptomatic hypoglycemic brain injury and hypoglycemic non-brain injury groups, the symptomatic hypoglycemic brain injury group had significantly lower blood glucose and modified aEEG score, significantly higher neuroglobin and NSE levels, and a significantly longer duration of hypoglycemia (P<0.05). Compared with the hypoglycemic non-brain injury group, the asymptomatic hypoglycemic brain injury group had significantly lower blood glucose and modified aEEG score, significantly higher neuroglobin and NSE levels, and a significantly longer duration of hypoglycemia (P<0.05). Neuroglobin was positively correlated with NSE and duration of hypoglycemia (r=0.922 and 0.929 respectively; P<0.05) and negatively correlated with blood glucose and modified aEEG score (r=-0.849 and -0.968 respectively; P<0.05). The areas under the ROC curve of neuroglobin, NSE and modified aEEG score were 0.894, 0.890 and 0.941 respectively, and neuroglobin had a sensitivity of 80.8% and a specificity of 95.8% at the optimal cut-off value of 108 mg/L.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Like NSE and modified aEEG score, serum neuroglobin can also be used as a specific indicator for the assessment of brain injury in neonates with hypoglycemia and has a certain value in clinical practice.

RESUMO

Objective@#To analyze the genetic characteristics of norovirus(NoV) in Jilin province from 2014 to 2016.@*Methods@#Stool samples from children under 5 years of age with diarrhea were collected from Changchun Children′s Hospital. Samples were amplified by RT-PCR. The polymerase and capsid gene of the positive specimens were amplified.Sequences were analyzed by homologous comparison and phylogenetic analysis.@*Results@#A total of 1 335 samples were detected, 177 were positive for NoV, and positive rate was 13.26%. The positive rate was 11.83% in 2014, 12.53% in 2015 and 15.75% in 2016. Genotyping of polymerase region revealed GII.P12 types dominated in 2014 and GII.Pe types dominated in 2015 and 2016. Genotyping of polymerase region revealed that GII.3 types dominated in 2014 and GII.4_Sydney2012 types dominated in 2015 and 2016. The types of both regions included GII.P17/GII.17, GII.Pe/GII.4_Sydney2012, GII.P12/GII.3, GII.Pe/GII.3、GII.P16/GII.2 and GII.P7/GII.6.@*Conclusions@#Genotypes of NoV infection are diverse in Jilin province. Most of them are recombinant strains. The main epidemic strains changed from GII.P12/GII.3 in 2014 to GII.Pe/GII.4_Sydney2012 in 2015 and 2016.

RESUMO

Probiotics is important to promote the absorption of nutrients,to respond to immune response,to suppress inflammatory cytokines and so on.Premature infant white matter damage is the main pathological form of preterminfant brain injury, and it is often complicated with cognitive, hearing impairment, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, etc. The latest finding is that probiotics can ensure balanced nutrition intake, improve body immunity, inhibit inflammatory factor release, reduce nerve cell edema, enhance antioxidant enzyme activity and oxygen free radical scavenging, inhibit excitatory amino acid activity, reduce excitatory toxicity, and promote the recovery of function of nerve cells in white matter damage in premature infants through microbiota-gut-brain axis. This article reviews the protection and repair of probiotics in premature infants with white matter damage.
