RESUMO

Objective To investigate the application value of time-spatial labeling inversion pulse (T-SLIP) in renal corticomedullary differentiaton and the best black blood inversion time (BBTI) value. Methods Totally 60 volunteers were included, who underwent abdominal MR scan with noncontrast-enhanced SSFP sequence combined with T-SLIP.All subjects were scanned with different BBTI (800,1 000,1 200,1 400,1 600,1 800 ms) using coronary T-SLIP SSFP sequence. The images quality was evaluated using a four-point scale method. The region of renal cortex and medulla was devised automatically based on the image training algorithm. The signal intensity ratio with the different BBTI was calculated through measuring the signal intensity of the renal cortex and medulla. And the best BBTI values were analyzed. Results When BBTI was 1 200 ms,the image score was the highest. The signal intensity ratio (SIR) had statistical difference among different BBTI groups (all P<0.05),when BBTI was 1 200 ms,the SIR was the highest, and the contrast between the renal cortex and medulla was obvious. Conclusion T-SLIP technology can improve the visibility of renal corticomedullary without contrast agents. The optimal BBTI for the best corticomedullary differentiation is 1 200 ms.

RESUMO

A total of 20 normal newborns and 8 brain injured newborns were monitored for 2 hours with domestic digital amplitude integrated cerebral function monitor (CFM 3000) and similar imported products LECTROMED CFM 5330 simultaneously. 32 newborns with seizures or suspected seizures were monitored with CFM 3000 and conventional electroencephalogram (EEG) simultaneously. The tracings of amplitude integrated electroencephalogram (aEEG) monitored by CFM 3000 and LECTROMED CFM 5330 are similar to each other. The continuous electrical activity, sleep-wake cycle, the mean of lower or upper bound voltage and duration of broad and narrow band were no significant statistical difference between different machines; The pattern of aEEG tracing of 8 infants with brain injury monitored by CFM 3000 was the same as monitored by the LECTROMED CFM 5330. The detection rate of seizure with CFM 3000 and conventional EEG were no statistically significant difference, and the consistency with Kappa test was: Kappa = 0.552, P = 0.001. The CFM 3000 can reflect the change of cerebral function and identify infants with brain injury reliably.

RESUMO

Amplitude integrated electroencephalogram (aEEG), also known as cerebral function monitor (CFM), is a non-invasive detection of brain function, having good accuracy in early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of neonatal brain damage. Today, doctors classify amplitude integrated electroencephalogram mainly based on its waveform and amplitude, then they make correct diagnosis of brain function of neonates. However, in some cases, the amplitude and waveform of aEEG are not very clearly shown, the only way is relying on doctors' experience to give out judgement, which has some subjective factors, so doctors can not present accurate diagnostic information. To solve this problem by the use of non-linear dynamics, we calculate and analyze the correlation dimension, Lyapunov exponent and approximate entropy of the aEEG for neonates with convulsions and for normal neonates; then we take these three characters as a three-dimensional vector; finally, the aEEG of neonates with convulsions and the aEEG of normal neonates are distributed into two parts in threedimensional space, thus the correlation dimension, Lyapunov exponent and approximate entropy of the aEEG can reflect the internal information of neonatal brain function. Therefore, it can be used as a new method for studying neonatal aEEG.

RESUMO

Aim To study the anti-oxidative and mitochondria-protective effects of estract of astragalus (EA ) on focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and its mechanism in rats. Methods Middle cerebral artery occlusion(MACO) was used to induce focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion model. After 24 h reperfusion,MDA, LD content and SOD activity of brain homogenate were tested. MDA content,SOD and ATPase activity in mitochondrion were also tested.Transmission electron microscopy was used to assess the ultrastructure dstruction. Results EA(20, 40, 80 mg?kg -1) significantly inhibited the increase of MDA, LD after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion. EA (40, 80 mg?kg -1) also inhibited the decrease of activit of SOD in rats. EA(20, 40, 80 mg?kg -1) inhibited the increase of MDA and inhibited the decrease of activities of SOD, Na+,K+-ATPase, Ca 2+,Mg 2+-ATPase in mitochondrion. The examination by transmission electron microscopy showed that EA (20, 40 mg?kg -1) protected the ultrastructure destruction. Conclusion EA had protective effects against focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion injuries via attenuating cerebral oxygen free radical(OFR)lipid peroxidation and protecting mitochondria.

RESUMO

AIM Protective effects of extract of astragalus on injuries of global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in rats and anoxia in mice. METHODS Acute anoxia in mice were produced by hypoxia under normal pressure and decapitation. In these two models the survival time and persistent time of gasping were observed. The global ischemia and reperfusion in rats was made by four-vessel occlusion (4-VO). After 20 min ischemia and 24 h reperfusion, the brain index and water content in brain was detected. MDA content and SOD activity of brain homogenate were tested. Endothelin concentration was determined both in plasma and hippocampus. The pathological changes of cortex tissue were observed by light microscope. RESULTS EA(50,100 mg?kg -1) significantly prolonged the survival time and persistent time of gasping in mice subjected to acute anoxia. EA(20,40,80 mg?kg -1) markedly reduced brain edema induced by global ischemia and reperfusion. EA(40,80 mg?kg -1) decreased MDA content and increased SOD activity in brain homogenate, and also inhibited ET concentration both in plasma and hippocampus. The pathological changes of cortex tissue were less serious in rats treated with EA. CONCLUSION EA has protective effects on cerebral ischemia and anoxia injuries that may relate to anti-oxidation and inhibition of ET production.
