RESUMO

Irradiation by low output semiconductor laser beam according to the method using “Koshi” by acupuncture at an irradiation site of lesions and a contralateral site of healthy region as a control resulted in expansion of the mobility range of neck, shoulder and arm syndromes. It was effective for motion pains of arm joint or joint pains of metacarpophalangeal joint and also effective for lumbago and neuralgia. It did not easily improve the effects on cervical motion pain and knee joint pain. In all 29 cases (consisting of 6 men and 23 women aging 30 to 75 years), 18 were effective: 3 of 3 cases with neck, shoulder and arm syndrome, 1 of 4 cases with cervical movement pains, 1 of 2 cases with arm joint pains, 2 of 2 cases with back pains, 6 of 8 cases with lumbago, 1 of 5 cases with knee joint pains, 2 of 2 cases with neuralgia, 1 of 1 case with foot joint pains, and 1 of 1 case with metacarpophalangeal joint pains, 9 moderate: 3 of 4 cases with cervical motion pains, 1 of 2 cases with arm joint pains, 1 of 8 cases with lumbago, 3 of 5 cases with knee joint pains, and 1 of 1 case with elbow joint pains, and 2 poor: 1 of 8 cases with lumbago and 1 of 5 cases with knee joint pains. Thus laser beam effectiveness was confirmed.

RESUMO

To demonstrate acupunctural effects on remote areas of the human body, a needle was held stationary at l-Lv-8 and the changes in skin temperature were measured at the location of the congested-blood syndrome in the left hypogastric region, using a skin thermometer and a thermal video system. The acupuncture caused the temperature to rise from a level lower than in the normal state. As a control, healthy persons were treated in the same manner, but no appreciable change was observed.<br>With a patient having congested-blood syndrom in the left hypogastric region, the l-Lv-8 point was tender to the touch. This was not the case with healthy persons.<br>It has thus been demonstrated that a stationary insertion at an abnormal point has an effect on the specific, remote location where the abnormal condition exists.<br>Only one insertion at an abnormal point has proven effective.

RESUMO

Introduction<br>We tried to prove the effectiveness of acupuncture against unidentified syndrome.<br>Method<br>Subjects were women complaining of unidentified syndrome and divided into the control group and test group. Galenicals extact was given to all of them and acupuncture was administered to the test group. The examination was a sequential medical trial in a restricted design (2α=0.05, 1-β=0.95, θ1=0.90 and N=19). Acupuncture was applied twice a week for two weeks. We evaluated their subjective symptoms, difficulties in daily life and so on with MPI-test and MV-test.<br>Conclusion<br>Among the two groups, patients were randomly paired off into ten couples. Thus, a subjective comparison was possible. Global improvement rating by patients was effective for the symptoms of 60% of the test group, and 10% of the control group (p<0.05). As to the difficulties in daily life, it was effective for 70% of the test group, whereas only 20% of the control group. About subjective symptoms, there was a significant difference in the stiffness in shoulder (p<0.10). On MV-test, the test group of five pairs showed an increase in theta waves (p<0.05) and a decrease in beta waves (p<0.10).

RESUMO

Recently the circadian rhythm has been payed attention. The circadian rhythm is influenced by the light and dark, the meal and the travel. We recognized that the circadian rhythm was normalized by bathing in hot spring.<br>The circadian rhythm of patients on 17-OHCS and 17-KS in urine was abnormal and this rhythm was normalized by the bathing in Shirahama Hot Spring.<br>P-cortisol and p-ACTH of various patients (specially female psychosomatic disease) had the abnormal circadian rhythm, and those were normalized by bathing in Ryujin Hot Spring.<br>Serotonine in brain, meratonine and serotonine in pineal body and CRF in hypothalamus of normal rats don't changed by bathing in spa.<br>The normal circadian rhythm don't changed and the abnormal rhythm was normalized by bathing in spa.<br>Thus, the one of effects on bathing in spa is normalization of hormon rhythm.

RESUMO

In recent years the biological rhythms has been concerned. Lately we recognized that there were differences of degrees by the constitutions on the skin-temperature and bodily temperature. On Sympathicotonie and Vagotonie the rhythms-widths of skin-temperature had difference, but their cycles are same. The cycie of armpit-temperature and that of skin-temperature are reverse. Therefore the skin-temperature is importhant about the circadian rhythms.

RESUMO

Hotspring bath brings about increase of hormone sensitive lipase, cAMP of adipose tissue. It differs from kind of hotsprings.<br>Hotspring bath hastens analysis of triglyceride of adipose tissue and increases FFA. There is a difference between kind of hotsprings.<br>The more Mg2+, Ca2+ of connective tissue decreases remarkably by hotspring, the more hormone sencitive lipase, cAMP, FFA increases evidently.<br>It seems one of efficacy of hotspring influences relation of metal ion, hormone sensitive lipase, cAMP, FFA and hastens analysis of lipid.

RESUMO

The relation between stomach and mesenchym cause by DNA to rise in a short time, but it is very momentary.<br>dl-Penicillamine, RNA, phosphoryl chloride, ATP, MgSO4, Heparin natrium, HCl-paraaminoaldehyd cause acceleration. CaCl2 causes diminishable and weak.<br>DNA, RNA, ATP, phosphoryl cholin chloride, dl-penicillamine, paraaminoaldehyd have relation to the tsubo part (point part) specially.<br>Heparin natrium accelerates at the tsubo part but intravenous injection makes no change.<br>Heparin natrium is of no effect after HCl-paraamino aldehyde. After intravenous injection of Heparin natrium, phosphoryl chloride and dl-penicillamine are of no effect.<br>The metabolism of metallic ion, nucleic acid and mucopolysaccharide of mesenchymal system are related to the function of stomach.

RESUMO

Even during the effect of exciting and blocking of autonomic nerve, anesthezing cerebral cortex and sedativing cerebrum. There is normalize working of stomach by acupuncture of corium (Ashisanri, Ryokyu).<br>Prednisolon and Prostisol (effective ingredient of ginsen) augment the effect of acupuncture.<br>The corium and the fascia have the relation with the stomach but not with the muscle. The acupuncture of the two former change the function of stomach but no change by BaCl2, by MgSO4 extreme increase and by CaCl2 extreme decrease.<br>Injecting DNA into the subcutaneous and intracutaneous part of Ashisanri, the tension and peristalsis of stomach excite remarkably. RNA, condroitin sulfric acid, Heparin natrium and Hyaluronic acid cause acceleration to the stomach.<br>ATP, phosphoryl chloride cause no change, BaCl2, Hyaluronidase and collagenase cause decrease and weakness, chondroitinase causes decrease and weakness extremely.<br>It conceibable that metalic ion, nucleic acid, mucopolysaccharide and enzyme act on the relation between the stomach, the corium, subcutaneous connective tissue and the fascia.

RESUMO

The temperature of mesenchym is high on crescent and the one of muscle is unchangeable on lunar time. The lunar time has relevance to mesenchym. The circadian rhythms (and so forth) has much higher value indicated substance on cresent. Mg, Ca in urine indicate that their rhythms have the opposite relation.<br>Na in urine differ from K in urine entirely. 17KS, 17OHCS in urine have high value on crescent. 17KS differ between on full, new moon and moonless.<br>The some of circadian rhythms change on the lunar time, much of them decrease or increase in quantity.

RESUMO

The temperature of rat's corium rises by bathing in city water and spa. The circadian rhythms also change. There are difference between them. There are no change in the circadian rhythms of rat's muscle temperature by bathing in city water and Spa.<br>The circadian rhythms of human skin temperature change by trying a change of air. but the bathing in Spa has strong effect by far and moreover has the working of normality.<br>By Spa bathing the human urine 17 OHCS, Mg, Ca change the circadian rhythms in early. Taking bathing in Spa for 4 days the effects continue for a week.

RESUMO

There is a difference between city water bathing and hot spring water bathing in changing lipid metabolism, steroid metabolism etc. in serum and connective tissue.<br>Remarkable differences are seen due to the quality of hot spring water and also due to the duration of bathing.<br>It is usually observed that fatty acid and steroid in serum increased and decreased contrary to those in connective tissue.<br>From the changes of lipid metabolism I studied the special function of hot spring bathing.

RESUMO

The difference in the thermal change among various organs, such as cutis connective tissue, muscular membrane, muscles, liver, stomach and rectum arose by bathing with city water or many kinds of hot spring water which had been exposed to the air for 20min. Water temperature was 38.5C.<br>Remarkable changes were seen in the organs of mesodermal origin. This result, I think, shows one of the effects of the hot spring water bathing.<br>Serum concentrations of several fatty acids greatly increased but that of the rest decreased by taking bath.<br>Some sorts of hot spring water were considered to promote the fatty acid metabolism. These facts seem to tell that the effects of hot spring water bathing on the connective tissue are some of the main causes of the bathing effect which is peculiar to the quality of hot spring water.

RESUMO

The effect of bathing with hot spring water did not originate from non-specific physical stimulation to the whole body, but each tissue, for examples, the bone marrow, subcutaneous connective tissue or liver, was influenced in a different manner. It was considered that there were close relation among these effects.

RESUMO

Temporal change of skin temperature after a bathing with warm water is not always the same on all occasions. These differences are remarkably shown between bathing with warm city water and with hot spring water. Exercises have also considerable influence on time course of skin temperature.<br>It was observed that the hot spring bathing decreased the difference of skin temperature between the left and right side, and the central and peripheral part of the body.

RESUMO

The author compared by TLC the increase and decrease of lipid, steroid, amine, and estrone in the hypodermic connective tissue with those in the liver caused by applying IR and UV to rats' skin.<br>In the connective tissue the variations were more remarkable than in the liver, and in some cases fatty acid and steroid were reduced notably, which was more prominently affected by IR irradiation than by UV.<br>On the other hand, in many cases they diminished in the liver, and, generally, they were more markedly influenced by UV.<br>In some instances the variations in the liver were reversed to those in the connective tissue.<br>It is thought this is caused by the metabolic relation between the liver and the connective tissue, or by the change of what the author assert regarding the connection between the hypodermic connective tissue and the internal organs by nucleic acid, mucopolysaccharide, ions, etc.

RESUMO

Saline sodium bicarbonate hot spring bath (of Shirahama Spa). influences lipid metabolism.<br>But it made no notable change by single bath.<br>The increase and decreases of steroids and of fatty acids were observed by means of small amount measurement.<br>After serial bathings for about a month there were marked increases and decreases of serum lipid, total cholesterol, cholesterol ester, NEFA, & phospho-lipid.<br>It was observed that dissolution of fat in the body was induced and that hypercholesterolemia was cured by normalization and blood cholesterol was reduced nearly to normal.<br>Thus the author proved the efficacy of saline sodium bicarbonate hot spring bath from the study of lipid.
