Os diferentes tipos de maloclusão: avaliação da influência do ângulo de deflexão craniana / Evaluation of the cranial deflexure angle influence in different types of malocclusion

Nos últimos anos muitas pesquisas foram desenvolvidas em torno da influência da morfologia craniana no grau de prognatismo facial. Embora exista um reconhecimento dessa relação, a sua implicação clínica é ainda bastante controversa. O presente trabalho preocupou-se em analisar o ângulo de deflexão craniana proposto por Ricketts em indivíduos com diferentes tipos de maloclusão, para se observar a sua utilização na rotina diagnóstica. Assim, 30 telerradiografias obtidas em indivíduos brasileiros com idades entre 8 e 16 anos, portadores de maloclusões Classe I, Classe II divisão 1ª e Classe III de Angle foram estudadas. Os resultados mostraram que a análise exclusiva do ângulo Ba-N.Fr não define o tipo de maloclusão, mas pode ajudar no prognóstico das maloclusões de Classe III

Conventional scanning electron microscopic study of the submandibular gland of the rat

The submandibular gland of rats was treated with HC1-collagenase and NaOH methods which remove respectively, the collagen fibers and cellular components of acinar and ductal structures. The results revealed that the acini are oval in shape and surrounded by basal lamina and fine fibrilar structures. The fractured surface revealed clearly the lobuli, the interlobular spaces containing the collagen fiber bundles and the acini formations of submandiblar glands. Numerous acini of differents diameters are seen. The surfaces of striated ductus showed the original disposition of collagen fiber bundles belonging to the capsular elements.
