RESUMO

Aggressive angiomyxoma (AAM) is a rare soft tissue tumor composed of scattered spindle cells and abundant vessels embedded in a myxoid matrix. It is a benign slow growing tumor, but locally infiltrative and have a propensity of recurrence. We described the case of a recurrent aggressive angiomyxoma of vulva in a 47-year old female patient. She had a history of vulvar excision at local clinic 2-years ago, and visited our institute with a complaint of pain associated vulvar mass. Wide local excision with postoperative adjuvant GnRH agonist therapy was done according to pathologic report which revealed positive resection margin with estrogen/progesterone receptors positive. She is now free of disease during 15 months of follow up. We report the case with a brief review of the literature.

RESUMO

Small bowel obstruction in pregnancy is a rare critical condition with high morbidity and mortality. The diagnosis of small bowel obstruction in pregnancy is often delayed because the symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain mimic typical pregnancy-associated complaints. So, a high level of suspicion especially in patients with a history of previous abdominal surgery is essential for early diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is made, surgery should be performed immediately. We present the first case of small bowel obstruction during pregnancy in Korea with a brief review of the literature.

Most commonly it leads to an acute flu-like illness. The diagnosis is usually confirmed serologically using a complement fixation or microimmunofluorescence test. Previous reports suggest that case-to-case in men is rare. We report person-to-person transmission, within a familly and doctors who participated in the care of the C. burnetii-infected the patient Q fever is possibly underdiagnosed in children, it should be considered in children with fever of unknown origin.
