RESUMO
Twenty selected patients presenting mainly with fatigue and backache and having auscultatory findings of Mitral valve prolapse [MVP], were subjected to Hamilton Depression, Fatigue severity and Minimental state scales, M-mode and 2-D echocardiography to assess the degree of severity were done. Severity of Fatigue and Depression had statistical significant relation to the degree of MVP [P<0.0001]. Patients presenting with anterior leaflet prolapse were more liable to develop fatigue than those with other parts prolapsed from mitral valve [MV]. No relation was found between cognitive function and severity of MPV. Patients with anterior leaflet prolapse are more liable to develop fatigue than patients with any other part prolapsed from mitral valve
