Amphimerus bragai n.sp. (Digenea: Opisthorchiidae), a parasite of the rodent Nectomys squamipes (Cricetidae) from Minas Gerais, Brazil

Amphimerus bragai n.sp. (Digenea, Opisthorchiidae) from the bile ducts of a rodent from the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, Nectomys squamipes (Cricetidae), is described. The new species was studied by both light and scanning electron microscopy. A table is presented comparing the measurements of the new species with those of A. lancea (Diesing, 1850) and A. vallecaucensis Thatcher, 1970, parasites of dolphins and marsupials, respectively. The new species is similar in size and body form to a A. vallecaucensis from which it differs in having a vitellarium that extends to the acetabulum while that of the former species are limited to the posterior one-third of the body. Additionally, the new species is from a rodent.

A redescription of Riggia paranensis Szidat, 1948 (Isopoda, Cymothoidae) based on thirty-two specimens from curimatid fish of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with an emendation of the genus

Riggia paranensis Szidat, 1948 is redescribed on the basis of 30 female and 2 male specimens collected from the pericardial cavities of the curimatid fish Cyphocarax (=Curimata) gilberti (Quoy & Gaimard). The fishes were caught in the Itabapoana River, State of Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil. The presence of "dwarf" males, as reported by Szidat, was verified. The fusion of the pleonites and pleotelson in adult females was also confirmed. The generic diagnosis was emended to include details of mouthparts and pleopods.

Ergasilus hypophthalmi n. sp. (Copepoda, Poecilostomatoida, Ergasilidae) from the gill rakers of the Amazonian catfishes, Hypophthalmus edentatus Spix and H. fimbriatus Kner

A fêmea de Ergasilus hypophthalmi sp.n. (Copepoda, Poecilostopmatoida, Erhasilidae) é descrita dos rastros branquiais dos bagres amazônicos, Hypophthalmus edentatus Spix e H. fimbriatus Kner. A nova espécie é morfologicamente semelhante a E. hydrolycus Thatcher e Boeger, 1984, da qual se difere principalmente por ter o segmento torácico II fusionado ao cefalotórax e uma antena relativamente mais curta. Ergasilus hypophthalmi é a terceira espécie de Ergasilidae descrita dos rastros branquiais de peixe
