RESUMO

There are tunnels syndromes secondary to a congestion of the tunnel by supernumerary muscles. We report 4 cases of carpal tunnel syndrome represented by a high insertion of a lombrical muscle, a supernumerary lombrical muscle, and two cases of an accessory palmaris longus. At the level of the tarsal tunnel, it was about a low muscular insertion of the tibialis posterior. Diagnosis can be suspected by specific operations and the treatment consists of the elimination of these "intruders" associated to neurolysis. Problem is to know if the supernumerary muscle is the cause or a simple witness of this canalar syndrome
