Abstract@#At the beginning of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, health work in Hebei Province was faced with a difficult situation in which people suffered from numerous diseases and shortage of critical drugs. With strong support from Hebei provincial government, health education and propaganda were carried out in all levels of elementary and secondary schools, gradually a set of school-based comprehensive disease prevention and health promotion system was created which set stages for healthy development among children and adolescents, as well as raised popular awareness of disease prevention and ultimately established a professionaldevelopment plan for school health in Hebei Province. This work generated reference values to health education and health-related work across elementary and secondary schools across China.
