RESUMO

@# Objective To investigate the clinical features and characteristic of auxiliary examination of neuralgic amyotrophy(NA).Methods8 patients with idiopathic neuralgic amyotrophy were analyzed retrospectively with literature review. Results and ConclusionAntecedent events were found before attack in 5 patients.Serious pain, which was followed by paresis and atrophy,as initial symptom, was found in 7 patients.Damage in the upper and middle trunk distribution occurred most frequently.Elevated liver enzymes were found during the early phase of their attacks in 2 patients.CSF analysis was performed in 5 patients, and mildly elevated protein was found in two.5 patients had been misdiagnosed as cervical spondylosis. After medical and/or physical therapy(6 patients with corticosteroid and physical therapy,2 only with physical therapy),all the patients had been followed up for 2~13 months.Muscle power was recovered in 67% of all the patients, partially recovered in 33%.

RESUMO

@#Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of amitriptyline with manipulative therapy for episode tension-type headache (ETTH). Methods 62 patients were randomized into 2 groups: amitriptyline group, amitriptyline with manipulative therapy group. Numbers of days with headache(NDH) and days with medication(NDM), intensity of the headache(IH) between the two weeks before randomisation and 1~2, 3~4 weeks after randomization were recorded by participants in headache diaries. Results In the first 2 weeks after treatment, the NDH in amitriptyline group and amitriptyline with manipulative therapy group were (6.00±2.21) d and (4.19±1.70) d respectively (P<0.05), while in the second 2 weeks, they were (4.00±1.86) d and (2.16±1.21) d respectively (P<0.05). The NDM in amitriptyline group and amitriptyline with manipulative therapy group were (1.77±1.23) d and (1.32±1.22) d respectively in the first 2 weeks after treatment (P<0.05), but there was no significantly difference between the two groups in the second 2 weeks. The IH (with Visual Analog Scale) were(3.32±0.94) and (2.39±1.33)respectively (P<0.05) in the second 2 weeks. Conclusion Amitriptyline with manipulative therapy is better than amitriptyline alone in reducing the symptoms of episode tension type headache.

RESUMO

Objective To study the clinical and pathological features of myofibrillar myopathy. Methods Clinical and pathological data of a patient with myofibrillar myopathy were anlysised retrospectively. Results The patient showed middle-aged onset, progressively proximal muscle weakness, mildly general muscle atrophy.Neurogenic changers were found in lower extremities on EMG.On mucle biopsy, cytoplasmic bodies presented in many muscle fibers in which disorganized myofibrillar networks and abnormal desmin aggregates were found, and rimmed vacuoles appeared in muscle fibers. Conclusions There is no specificity of clinical manifestation in myofibrillar myopathy.Cytoplasmic bodies, disorganized myofibrillar networks and abnormal desmin aggregates are the distinctively pathological features in myofibrillar myopathy.

RESUMO

Somatostatin-containing neurons and nerve fibers in the commissural subnucleus of the nucleus tractus solitarii(NTS) of the rat were studied by means of munoelectron microscopy. The results showed that somatostatin-like immunoreactive positive neurons are medium or small cells, fusiform or elliptical. Somatostatin- like immunoreactive positive axons are unmyelinated, and mainly form passage or terminal synapses. Somatostatin-positive cell bodies themselves have not been obser- ved to form synapses with somatostatin-positive fibers, but their dendrites may receive innervation from immunoreactive-negative fibers by axo-dendritic synapses.
