RESUMO

AIM:To investigate the role of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors(PPARs)-inflammation signaling pathways in diabetic hepatopathy.METHODS:Diabetic mouse model was established by feeding the mice with a high-energy diet for 4 weeks combined with intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(STZ;40 mg· kg-1· d-1for 5 d). The hepatopathy model was confirmed by histopathological observation and the indexes of liver function, such as alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST)and alkaline phosphatase(ALP),after another 4 weeks.Mo-reover,fasting blood glucose(FBG), and serum levels of total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG)and insulin were measured, and the HOMA insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR)was calculated. The mRNA and protein expression levels of PPARs and inflammation-related factors were measured by qPCR and Western blot, respectively.RESULTS: After treatment with STZ for 7 d,the FBG of mice exceeded 11.1 mmol/L,suggesting that the diabetic model was established. After 4 weeks, the structural deformation of the hepatocytes(including hepatocytes containing abundant fat vacuoles, and inflammatory cell infiltration),and the increases in the serum levels of insulin,HOMA-IR,TC,TG,ALT,AST and ALP were observed(P<0.01), indicating the occurrence and progression of hepatopathy in diabetic mice.Meanwhile, com-pared with the control group, the mRNA and protein expression of PPARα,PPARβand PPARγdecreased, but the expres-sion of nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB),cyclooxygenase 2(COX-2)and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)significantly increased in the diabetic hepatopathy mice(P <0.01).CONCLUSION: Down-regulation of PPARα, PPARβand PPARγand activation of NF-κB-COX-2/iNOS signaling pathways may be involved in the diabetic hepatopathy in mice in-duced by long-term high-energy diet feeding combined with intraperitoneal injection of STZ.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo understand the current status and relative factors of reproductive health (RH) on unmarried floating population.

METHODSBoth quantitative and qualitative surveys were employed. Quantitative survey would include questionnaire admimistration, physic examination and laboratory test while qualitative study including focus/nominal group discussion, individual and resource persons interview. All of the investigative targets were selected under informed consent.

RESULTSAmong 1333 investigated unmarried floating population, the mean score on knowledge of RH was 12.97 +/- 12.20 (the full score was 100). Among studied persons, 10.20% of them were in favor of unmarried sexual activity while 50.64% of them did not care about it and 26.90% of them had ever experienced sexual activity. Among females who experienced sexual activity, 25.45% of them had induced abortion. It was found, through multivariate logistic analysis, that sexual activity at younger age, less education, agreed on having sexual activity under partner's request, sexual activity in half of a year, and pregnancy were the major risk factors on RH of unmarried floating population.

CONCLUSIONThe problem on the current status of RH among unmarried floating population needs to be addressed as they were lack of knowledge on RH and having more risk factors on RH.

RESUMO

@#ObjectiveTo investigate clinical features, correlative factors and prognosis of senile coronary heart disease accompanied with depression.MethodsFifty two senile patients of coronary hart disease with depression were selected for the observation group, sixty cases without depression as control group. Clinical features, family conditions, society factors and Holter report (supervision) of two groups were analyzed.ResultsClinical features such as severe dyssomnia, anxiety agitation, emotion depressing, loss of interest, feeling waste and sense of guilty in patients of observation group were significant different with those in control group. The rate of family harmoniousness and society supporting between patients of two groups were significantly different. The incidence of ventricular arrhythmias, atrial arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia changes on ST-T in the Holter reports of patients in observation group were higher than those in control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The incidence of cardiac sudden death of patients in observation group was also higher than patients in control group (P<0.05).ConclusionClinical symptoms such as severs dyssomnia, anxiety agitation, emotion depressing are easily occurred in senile coronary heart disease patients with depression. Patients with depression have higher incidence of cardiac sudden death, having better relationship and society support are advantageous to prevent and reduce the depression in senile coronary heart disease patients.
