RESUMO
Objective:To explore the effect and underlying mechanism of casein kinase 2 interacting protein-1 (CKIP-1) on hepatocyte apoptosis in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).Methods:Experimental study. An NAFLD cell model was established by inducing human hepatoma cell line, HepG 2 cells, with oleic acid (OA). Flag-CKIP-1 expression vector and shRNA-CKIP-1 were transfected into HepG 2 cells. Flow cytometry was used to detect the effect of CKIP-1 on the activity and apoptosis of NAFLD hepatocytes. The levels of apoptosis-related proteins were detected by Western blot. CKIP-1 knockout mice in C57BL/6 back-ground were fed with either standard or high-fat diet for 8 weeks. Apoptosis-related signal proteins in NAFLD hepatocytes were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results:After CKIP-1 was transfected into HepG 2 cells, the degree of OA induced cell liposis was significantly reduced ( P<0.05). Annexin V-FITC/PI flow cytometry showed that CKIP-1 reduced the apoptosis of steatotic hepatocytes. Overexpression of CKIP-1 could significantly inhibit the expression of caspase-3 and caspase-9 and increase the expression of Bcl-2/Bax ( P<0.05). Knockdown of CKIP-1 could increase the expression of caspase-3 and caspase-9 ( P<0.05). CKIP-1 knockout could further increase the expression of caspase-3 and caspase-9 in NAFLD mice ( P<0.01, P<0.05), and further decrease the expression of Bcl-2/Bax ( P<0.05). Conclusion:CKIP-1 inhibited the apoptosis of steatotic hepatocytes by up-regulating the expression of apoptosis inhibitor gene, Bcl-2/Bax, and affecting the proteases, caspase-3 and caspase-9.

RESUMO
Objective To investigate the clinical outcomes of hemiarthroplasty with Wagner SL prosthesis in treating failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fractures of elderly patients. Methods Aretrospective case series study was conducted on the clinical data of 14 patients with failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fractures admitted between March 2015 to April 2018.There were seven males and seven females with a mean age of 82.2 years (range,75-94 years). The primary internal fixators were proximal femoral nail anti rotation in nine patients, dynamic hip screw in three patients, and proximal femoral locking plate in two patients. The main causes of internal fixation failure were screw loosening in six patients, cutting out of screws in five patients, nonunion in two patients, and plate breakage with nonunion in one patient.Affected limb shortening and coxa varus deformity to various degrees were seen in all the patients before operation. The mean interval from internal fixation to hemiarthroplasty was 6.6 months (range,2-12 months). All patients received hemiarthroplasty using Wagner SL prosthesis,of which nine patients had additional trochanter claw plate with titanium cable fixation and two patients had tension band wire fixation. The operation time, intraoperative, and postoperative complications were recorded.Harris hip scores were measured before operation and at the last follow up to evaluate hip function.Radiographs were performed to assess the fracture healing, prosthesis position, and biological fixation. Results All patients were followed up for 6-30 months (mean,14.5 months). The mean operation time was (108.0 ± 12.4) minutes (range,88-130 minutes). No iatrogenic fracture occurred during the operation. One patient was seen contralateral intertrochanteric fracture during follow-up,and no complications such as periprosthetic fracture, prosthetic sinking, and infection occurred in the 13 patients. The Harris score increased from (26.1-±7.5)points before operation to (83.1 ±4.1)points after operation (P < 0.01).All patients were able to stand and walk,of which four needed crutch assistance. At the last follow-up,X-ray film showed that the prosthesis was well positioned and that all of them reached bony fixation.Fourteen cases of greater trochanteric fracture were healed, with two cases of slight displacement. Conclusions Hemiarthroplasty is an effective remedial treatment for failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly, which can improve hip function and enhance the life quality of patients.Wagner SL prosthesis can obtain stable fixation.
RESUMO
Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy technology (SERS), using gold nanoparticles as a base, was developed for rapid and sensitive detection of virus strains. SERS can be used as a rapid and reliable method to distinguish the titers of viral replication. In the present study, we characterized H1N1 subtypes of influenza A virus strains in different conditions of pH or temperatures, while we analyzed data from SERS technology using gold nanoparticles as a base and cell cultures were employed to further confirm the data from virus strains. Origin8.0 was used to collect Raman spectra, smooth and homogenize data, and to contrast spectra. Our results indicated that the peaks of different virus strains in optimal environmental conditions (T=37 ℃/pH=7.2) reached ≥3 000. This criterion was verified by subsequent virological method. The present data indicate that the established SERS protocol can be used as a rapid and reliable method to distinguish the replication rate of virus, which can be further used in clinical samples.

objective At present, most operable breast cancers are confirmed by excision biopsy during the operation. If the breast cancer was definitely diagnosed by Fine -Needle Aspiration cytology(FNA) preoperatively, the excision biopsy could be avoid. Methods We diagnosed 118 inpatients of breast mass with physical examination and FNA from September, 1995 to May, 1996. Results The sensitivity and positive predict value of FNA for diagnosing breast cancer are 95.7% and 97.1%. When the palpation and FNA are both positive, the doublepositive predict value for breast cancer is 100% in our study. It is the indication of using FNA that a breast mass was diagnosed as cancer by physical examination. We can treat a breast mass with redical operation directly without excision biopsy, if the breast mass was confirmed as breast cancer by both physical examination and FNA. Conclusion We concluded that the preoperative FNA could partially replace the excision biopsy for confirming breast cancer.
