RESUMO

Insomnia is the second most common psychiatric disorder in clinical practice, and more than one-third of adults may experience different forms of insomnia during their lifetime, but the root causes behind insomnia need further clarification. Early evidences from twins and family studies had shown that insomnia can be attributed to genetics. In recent years, with the rapid development of gene sequencing technology, Nature Genetics had published several consecutive articles focusing on insomnia and genes, confirming that genetic factors played an important role in the occurrence and development of insomnia. Therefore, the recent research progresses on insomnia and circadian rhythm, cytokines, neurotransmitters, and other related genes were summarized in this review, which could help to understand the pathogenesis of insomnia and develop precise treatment strategies.

RESUMO

Objective To establish a rat model of Cryptococcus neoformans meningitis. Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups (group A to D). The load of Cryptococcus neoformans was inoculated by intracisternal injection to the animals in Group A (1×105 cfu), Group B (1×106 cfu), Group C (1×107 cfu), and 0.9% NaCl solution to Group D. The rats were observed after inoculation for their clinical symptoms. On day 14 and day 21 after inoculation, cerebrospinal fluid was sampled and cultured for counting of bacterial colonies. The 28-day mortality of the animals was calculated. Results All the animals in group A (1×105 cfu) survived without any apparent clinical symptoms, and associated with decreasing bacteria load. The animals in group B (1×106 cfu) had mild symptoms associated with low mortality rate and slightly increased bacterial load. The animals in group C (1×107 cfu) showed a lot of symptoms and associated with high mortality rate and significantly increased bacteria load. All the animals in group D (0.9% NaCl solution) survived with normal activity. No bacterial colony was cultured from the cerebrospinal fluid. Conclusions Intracisternal injection of 1×107 cfu Cryptococcus neoformans to rats could cause apparent clinical symptoms of meningitis. The 28-day mortality rate of such a rat model of Cryptococcus neoformans meningitis is greater than 80%. An ideal rat model of Cryptococcus neoformans meningitis is established successfully.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features of gastric cardia cancer with neuroendo-crine cell differentiation(NED).Methods From September 2007 to October 2014,the clinicopathological features of 70 gastric cardia cancer patients with NED and 76 cases without NED confirmed by surgical pathology specimens and immunohistochemistry (Syn and CgA)in the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College were ret-rospectively analyzed and compared. Results The positive expression rates of synaptophysin(Syn)and chromogranin A(CgA)were 43.2% and 22.6%,respectively.Tumor differentiation was significantly related with NED (χ2 =4.989,P =0.026).Tumors with NED were larger and had deeper invasion, but they were not statistically significant. Conclusion Immunohistochemistry is important to the diagnosis of NED.Gastric cardia cancer with NED has poorer differentiation.

RESUMO

Objective To study the effect of the products of entermorpha (EP), chlorella growth factor (CGF) and entermorpha dietary fiber (EPDF) on defecation and blood lipid regulation. Method Based on the composition of EP products, the male ICR mice were intervened with EP, EPDF and CGF with three doses. Using the constipation model induced by compound diphenoxylate, the effect of EP products on enterocinesia function of mice was determined by measuring defecation and the percentage of ink-pushing in small intestine. High-lipid rat model was established by feading high fat diet and the intervention effect with three doses of EPDF and CGF for 6 w was observed. Results As compared to the model group, all doses of EP,both middle and high doses of EPDF,and high dose of CGF could shorten the time of first defecation and increase the percentage of ink-pushing in small intestine of costive mice (P

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To prepare pefloxacin mesylate eye drops.METHODS: The content of pefloxacin was determined with UV- spectrophotometry. The therapeutic effect of the eye drops was observed in 170 out- patients.RESULTS: The linearity range was 2~ 14μ g/ml with a regression equation of A=0.1 018C and r=0.9 999(n=7).The average recovery was 99.64% with a RSD of 0.43% .After treatment,150 out- patients recovered,16 out- patients improved and 4 out- patients had no efficiency with a total effective rate of 97.6% .CONCLUSION: The eye drops has definite therapeutic effect. The UV- spectrophotometry method is simple, rapid and accurate in determination of the content and no special reagent is needed.
