Three Cases of Cytomegalovirus Retinitis in the Immunosuppressed Kidney Transplant Patients

Cytomegalovirus(CMV) infection in normal adults and children is usually asymptomatic. However, CMV represents a potent opportunistic pathogen in immunocompromised hosts, such as neonate, victims of acquired immune deficiency syndrome, organ transplant recipients, and patients receiving immunosuppressive chemotherapy, in whom the virus is capable of causing severe morbidity and mortality.
