RESUMO

External tufted (ET) cells are the major excitatory elements coordinating the activities of glomerulars and mediating the input from the olfactory neurons to mitral cells. The ET cells participate in inter-and intra-glomerular microcircuits in the olfactory bulb, link the isofunctional odor columns within the same olfactory bulb, and play an important role in olfactory information processing. This paper reviews the research progress of the anatomy and physiological properties and electrophysiological modeling of ET cells, elaborate the problems and defects in the field. And then it further gives some proposals for the future research of electrophysiological properties, development of olfactory information coding and performance of modeling of ET cells.

RESUMO

Olfactory organ is an important sensory system and therefore it can serve as the research object of the neural information processing and biologic evolution due to its simplicity and ancient characteristics of the system. Besides, the olfactory biosensors based on olfactory receptor neurons (ORNs) have prosperous applications in environmental monitoring and food testing. This review introduces configuration and signal transduction of ORNs. Then it examines neuronal coding strategies and how the characteristic of responses to mechanical stimuli applied to olfactory processing. Finally, it illustrates the recent research of olfactory biosensors based on ORNs/olfactory receptors and puts forward the direction of future research.

RESUMO

Compared with other sensory system, olfactory neural system may be the most unknown one. And it is reported that the research of the complicated olfactory system is beneficial to clarifying the whole mechanism of the sensory system. Focused on spatiotemporal coding and decoding mechanism, the studies on the olfactory neural system recognition models are especially introduced. Finally, this paper presents the research work carried out in our lab, and prospects the development of this field in the future.

RESUMO

Based on our previous electrical heart model, an electromechanical biventricular model was constructed by means of composite material theory and the finite element method. And the 3-D motion of the right ventricular wall was simulated based on this model. The orientation of cardiac fibers and myocardial contractility were taken into consideration during simulation modeling. The propagation of electrical excitation was simulated using an electrical heart model, and the resulting active forces was used to calculate the ventricular wall motion. Regional deformation and Lagrangian strain tensors were calculated during systole. Displacements, minimum principal strains were used to describe the motion of the right ventricle. The simulation results are in good accordance with results obtained from MR tagging images reported in literatures. In addition, the results also show that although the maximum displacement occurs in the base of the heart, however, the maximum contraction occurs in the apex of the heart. Such result is very difficult to be obtained by means of animal experiment or human experiment. This study suggests that such electrophysiologic-mechanical biventricular models have the important significance to be used to assess the mechanical functions of the two ventricles.

RESUMO

This paper introduces the new research achievement and progress of electro-physiology in olfaction and gustation. Classical implements such as patch-clamp or glass pipette are not appropriate in the dynamic detection of cellular signal transportation. In view of this, we have analyzed the feasibilities and challenges of olfactory or gustatory cell-based biosensors such as field effect transistor (FET) and light addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS). Finally we present the research work carried our in out lab and a future prospective on the development in this field.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the quantitative relationship between the changes of the parameters of Three-Electrode System and the Current following through WE (Farad current and Nonfarad current ). Methods We built a model based on the driving voltage-current system, which could describe the parameters of system and present the influence of current by changing parameters. Results The results of studying two simulational models accord with experiments of electrical chemistry. Conclusion This study provides an estimated value and influence of the electrochemistry noises, which is significant for data accuracy and anti-jamming of electrochemistry products.
