RESUMO

Objective: To evaluate the effects of Liu Zi Jue Qigong (LQG)-based breathing training on the curvature and range of motion (ROM) of the thoracic and lumbar spines in different positions. Methods: Forty-seven college students were selected as subjects and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group. In the observation group, 27 subjects received regular LQG-based breathing training for 12 weeks, while 20 subjects in the control group did not receive any intervention. The spine measuring instrument Spinal Mouse was adopted to detect the curvature and ROM of the thoracic and lumbar spines. Results: In the observation group, the changes in the curvatures of thoracic spine in the upright and forward-bending positions showed statistical significance after LQG exercise (P<0.05), while there was no notable difference in the control group. The comparison of ROM of the thoracic spine from the upright position to the forward-bending and load-bearing positions showed statistically significant difference in the observation group (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference in the control group. There was no significant difference in the lumbar curvature and ROM in the two groups after LQG exercise. Conclusion: LQG-based breathing training improves the curvature and ROM of the thoracic spine.

RESUMO

The clinical practice of otorhinolaryngology is highly specialized. This paper intends to discuss the teaching method of online clinical practice of otorhinolaryngology. For the first time, the teaching method of "flipped classroom" combined with "standardized patients" is adopted to carry out online clinical practice for the eight-year program of clinical medicine students, and the students are assessed and the questionnaire survey of online practice satisfaction is conducted. According to the results, online clinical practice is a kind of teaching method with maneuverability, flexibility and interaction, but it can’t completely replace clinical practice. In the future, we can further explore the teaching mode of "online and offline mixed" clinical practice.

RESUMO

Objective To study the clinical characteristicsand prognosis in pediatric sudden sensorineural hearing loss and provide guidance for clinical practice. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 23 pediatric sudden sensorineural hearing loss patients (25 ears) treated in our department during the past 9 years (from January 2008 to October 2016).Comparatively we looked into those related factors (age, gender, ear side, treatment onset, initial hearing threshold, virus infection history, audiogram configuration, presence of tinnitus, vertigo, ear fullness and recovery) between pediatric patients and 202 adult patients (219 ears). Results Pediatric patients comprised 10.2 % of pediatric/adult cases of sudden sensorineural hearing loss. The average hearing threshold (87.7± 16.1 dB),rate of presence of vertigo (48.0%) and rate of virus infectionin in the pediatric group, were significantly higher than those of in the adult group (P<0.05).Tinnitus occurred in 80% of pediatric patients, and 96 % of the audiogram configurations showed total deafness curves and flat lines. After positive treatment, the overall recovery rate of the pediatric and the adult group were 52.0% and 46.6%,and the rate of complete recovery was 4.0% and 14.2%,respectively.The difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusion Pediatric sudden sensorineural hearing loss was generally identified as severe hearing loss with a high rate of presence of tinnitus and vertigo, and most audiogram configurations were total deafness in fiat lines.Virus infection probably is one of the primary etiologies for sudden sensorineural hearing loss in children.

RESUMO

So far, there is no effective treatment for most of patients with sensorineural hearing loss. Many studies have shown that gene therapy has become more promising in terms of protecting the inner ear from these diseases. In recent years, inner ear gene therapy has become a research focus in the field of otology. It has not yet appeared a feasible technique for inner ear gene therapy in clinical application due to the particularity of the structure and function of inner ear. On the other hand, in order to avoid the adverse effects of carcinogenic and immunity caused by viral vectors, many scholars devote themselves to develop new gene vectors based on non-viral materials, such as liposomes, polymers and other nanomaterials. In recent years, many great progresses have been made in development and application of non-viral vectors, which showing an inspiring prospect. The research status, progress and prospects of non-viral vectors in inner ear gene therapy will be discussed in this review.

RESUMO

Objective To study whether hTR antisense PS ODN has anticancer effect and the effect of increasing the susceptibility of tumor to DDP, we explore the effect of hTR antisense oligodeoxynucleotide in combination with DDP on human gastric carcinoma transplanted subcutaneously in nude mice in vivo. Methods The model of human gastric carcinoma transplanted subcutaneously was established in thirty nude mice, then divided randomly into 5 groups (Control group, ASODN group, RODN group, DDP group and ASODN+DDP group). The weight of nude mice was measured, and the tumor growth inhibitory rate was calculated. The relative telomerase activity was quantitatively measured by TRAP PCR ELISA methods. Results The maximum tumor inhibitory rate in ASODN+DDP group, ASODN group, DDP group and RODN group was 94.2 %, 84.3 %, 92.8 % and 26.9 % respectively. There was significant difference in the relative telomerase activity among four treatment groups. Conclusions The results suggested that hTR antisense PS ODN may act as a specific tumor growth inhibitor and telomerase activity inhibitor may be in sequence specific manner, and have the effect of increasing the susceptibility of transplanted tumor to DDP.
