RESUMO

One hundered and fifty four patients with minimal to mild endometriosis diagnosed by laparoscopy and with infertility as their sole problem were recruited for this study. Routin infertility investigations were done including semen analysis of the husband, hysterosalpingography mid-luteal blood level of progesterone and prolactin, out-patient premenstrual endometrial biopsy and post-coital test. The patients were divided into 2 groups matched in age, parity, type and duration, of infertility as well as type and grade of endometriosis. All the patients in the test group have received danazol 200 mg twice daily for 6 months. The patients in the control group were managed expectantly. Both groups were followed up for 18 months. Danazol was not superior to expectant treatment in improving spontaneous, pregnancy prospect of infertile patients with minimal and mild endometriosis
