RESUMO

Objective To observe the effect of finger-pressing combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy on the recovery of upper limb function after stroke. Methods A total of 60 cerebral stroke patients were randomly divided into an experimental group (n =30) and a control group (n =30).All patients were treated with conventional anti-symptomatic drugs but no anti-spasticity ones. The experimental group was given conventional rehabilitation and finger-pressing therapy, while the control group was given conventional rehabilitation only. Both groups were measured the motor function, using the upper-extremity portion of the Fugl-Meyer Scale, and the mean integrated electromyography (iEMG) output of biceps and flexor carpi radialis after the first finger-pressing treatment and 1 month later,so as to observe the immediate and continuous effects of finger-pressing therapy respectively. Results After the first session of finger-pressing therapy, the average Fugl-Meyer score(FMA) (12.63 ± 4.64) of the experimental group was significantly higher than in a pretest (12.13 ± 4.88) (P < 0.05),while the iEMG of biceps (41.64 ± 9.22) and flexor carpi radialis (37.06 ± 7.02) were lower than before (P < 0.01).One month after the treatment, compared with the control group, the average FMA (25.17 ± 5.93) and iEMG of biceps(34.42 ± 7.55) and flexor carpi radialis sEMG(30.63 ± 5.54) in the experimental group were significantly improved (P < 0.01).Conclusions Finger-pressing therapy has significant and immediate effects in improving the upper extremity spasticity of stroke survivors.Combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy it can effectively reduce the upper extremity spasticity in stroke patients and significantly improve the upper extremity function. The combination is superior to conventional rehabilitation alone.

RESUMO

@# Objective To observe the effect of horizontal multi-joint arm continuous passive motion (CPM) training on muscle tension and strength of biceps brachii of patients with stroke. Methods 60 patients with stroke were divided into treatment group (n=30) and control group (n=30). All the patients accepted routine medication and rehabilitation. The treatment group accepted horizontal multi-joint arm CPM training in addition. Their surface electromyography of biceps brachii was analyzed with surface electromyography analysis system: tension and strength before and after treatment. Results The tension and strength of biceps brachii improved in both groups after treatment (P<0.05), and improved more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The horizontal multi-joint arm CPM training may relieve the muscle tension and enhance the strength of biceps brachii after stroke

RESUMO

@#Objective To explore the effects of motor imaginary therapy combined with occupational therapy on the function of upperlimbs hands and activities of daily living for stroke patients with hemiplegia. Methods 62 stroke patients with hemiplegia were divided intoobservation group (n=31) and control group (n=31). Both groups were treated with basic medication and occupational therapy while the observationgroup was treated additionally with motor imaginary therapy. The function of upper limbs and hands was assessed by Fugl-MeyerAssessment (FMA), and activities of daily living was assessed by Functional Independence Measurement (FIM) before and 2 months aftertreatment. Results There were significant difference between the two groups in the scores of FMA in the function of upper limbs and hands, and FIM 2 months after the treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion Motor imaginary therapy combined with occupational therapy can effectivelyimprove the functional outcomes of upper limbs and hands for stroke patients with hemiplegic, and can even effectively improve the functionalactivities of daily living.

RESUMO

Objective To observe the efficacy of Shuilongjian in treating cerebellar infarction, and compare with the pure western medicine. Methods 67 inpatients with cerebellar infarction enrolled were divided into two groups according to the method of random digits table, 36 cases in the treatment group and 31 cases in the control group. The control group was given 500 mL dextran by venoclysis, once a day. The treatment group was given Shuilongjian as an additional drug. The therapeutic effect was evaluated according to the nerve function and the total capability in dealing with daily activities. Result All the 67 cases of cerebellar infarction were included in the analysis. The effective rate of the treatment group was better than that of control group with 83.3% and 58.1% (P
