RESUMO

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Wenyang Huayu Sanjie Decoction ( WHSD) for the treatment of adenomyosis with the syndrome of blood deficiency and cold stagnation. Methods Seventy qualified patients were evenly randomized into observation group and control group. The control group was treated with Mirena intrauterine contraceptive device, and the observation group was treated with WHSD ( composed of Danggui Sini San, Wuzhuyu Shengjiang Tang, Shixiao San and Rhizoma Sparganii, Rhizoma Curcumae). The clinical outcomes included the menstrual blood volume, menstrual cycle, menstruation, degrees of dysmenorrhea, uterine volume, and serum CA125 level in the two groups before treatment and 3, 6 months after treatment. Results ( 1) After treatment for 6 months, the total effective rate of the observation group was 94.29%, significantly higher than 85.71% in the control group ( P<0.05). ( 2) After treatment, dysmenorrheal degrees, menstrual blood volume, menstrual cycle, menstruation, uterine volume, and serum CA125 level were improved in both groups ( P<0.05) , and the observation group had better effect on relieving dysmenorrhea, improving menstruation, and decreasing CA125 level than the control group ( P<0.05). ( 3) No obvious adverse reaction was found in the observation group, but most of the cases in the control group had menstrual disorder such as vaginal irregular bleeding and prolongation of menstruation. Conclusion WHSD has certain therapeutic effect on adenomyosis with the syndrome of blood deficiency and cold stagnation, and can also obviously improve the quality of life of the patients.

RESUMO

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Wenjing Shexue Recipe ( WSR) in treating polycystic ovarian syndrome ( PCOS) with liver-kidney deficiency, and to explore the possible therapeutic mechanism. Methods Seventy-four PCOS patients were randomized into observation group ( N=38) and control group ( N=36). The observation group was given oral use of WSR and the control group was treated with Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets orally. Both groups received treatment for 6 months, and were followed up for 3 moths after drug withdrawal. After treatment, the therapeulic effect was evaluated , and the changes of body mass index ( BMI) , hairiness. acne, and sexual hormone levels were monitored before and after treatment. Results ( 1) The total effective rate of the observation gorup was 92.11% and that of the control group was 75.00%, the difference being significant ( P0.05) . The results of follow-up showed that BMI, the scores of hairiness and acne, and serum levels of T and LH were still lower in the observation group than those before treatment (P0.05 compared with those before treatment) and were higher than those of the observation group (P<0.05). Conclusion WSR exerts better effect for the treatment of PCOS with liver-kidney deficiency than Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets, and the possible mechanism is probably related with the regulation of endocrine disturbance by decreasing serum T and LH levels.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To study the correlation between dosage and curative effect of blood coagulation factor VIII in the prevention and treatment of haemophilia A in children and to determine the suitable dose for prevention of hemophilia in developing countries.@*METHODS@#For different body weights of child patient, every time we used the same dosage of blood coagulation factor VIII (250 U each time, 3 times a week) and observed and recorded the number of hemorrhages in child patients. Then we compared the number of hemorrhages with children without treatment to determine the curative effect. According to the different body weights, we calculated the dosage of VIII factor of blood coagulation per kilogram (hereinafter referred to as the dose), and used Spearman correlation coefficient to study the correlation between dose and curative effect.@*RESULTS@#The number of hemorrhages in 58 child patients before the treatment was 4.36 ± 1.78, while after the treatment was 2.22 ± 1.04 (t=7.91, P<0.001). The Spearman correlation coefficient of child patients of 5-10 U/kg was -0.421 (P=0.005); the Spearman correlation coefficient of child patients of 10-15 U/kg was -0.331 (P=0.030); the Spearman correlation coefficient of child patients over 15 U/kg was -0.16 (P=0.325).@*CONCLUSION@#Prevention and treatment can significantly reduce the times of hemorrhage in hemophilia patients.

RESUMO

Objective To understand the distribution and the characteristics on molecular typing of Salmonella (S.) typhimurium isolates gathered from the surveillance program and to construct the standard S.typhimurium databank in the laboratory through surveillance network PulseNet,in Guangdong province to improve the capability of detection on laboratory-based foodbome outbreaks. Methods With the application of standard pulse-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and multiple loci VNTR analysis (MLVA) including seven VNTRs loci protocols on PulseNet International Network,275 isolates of S.typhimurium from ten cities in Guangdong province were typed and their patterns analyzed. The molecular typing databank was constructed by BioNumerics. Results With S.typhimurium the most common serotypes, the average annual positive rate of Salmonella strains and S.typhimurium were 4.03% and 1.38% respectively. The positive rate and proportion presented a double-peak trend, appearing in May and September. The chromosomal DNA of S.typhimurium was digested with Xba Ⅰ restricted endonucleotidase and 124 PFGE patterns were observed after pulse-field gel electrophoresis, with the discrimination index (D) as 0.928 6.The patterns including more than three S.typhimurium isolates and were further digested with the second enzyme Bln Ⅰ to achieve 174 patterns, with the D value as 0.989 1.Under MLVA method,143 variant patterns were obtained, with the D value reaching 0.966 5.Data showed that the discriminatory ability of the MLVA typing method in S.typhimurium was superior to PFGE-Xba Ⅰ but equal to PFGE-Xba Ⅰ-Bln Ⅰ.In addition, when S.typhimurium strains were respectively analyzed by PFGE under double enzymes digestion and MLVA,the results appeared coincident and relative. Conclusion The variant patterns showed by the two molecular typing methods indicating a genetic diversity existed among the clinical S.typhimurium isolates in Guangdong province.Databank of S.typhimurium was constructed and could be used in laboratory surveillance programs.Under the characterization of analyzing similarity and evolution among S.typhimurium isolates,MLVA was suitable for cluster analysis on early detection of outbreaks caused by S.typhimurium.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the changes in blood coagulation during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in children of different ages undergoing open heart surgery for cyanotic congenital heart disease. Methods Sixty children with cyanotic congenital heart disease undergoing open heart surgery under CPB were divided into 3 age groups: Group A(age≤12 mort, n=25), Group B (12mon<age≤24 mon, n= 17) and Group C (24 mon< age<4 yr, n=18). Venous blood samples were taken immediately after induction of anesthesia(T1) and at 10 min after protamine administration (T2)for determination of activated coagulation time (SonACT), clot rate and platelet function (PF) using Sonoclot coagulation and platelet function analyzer-type DP2951 (Sieuco Co., USA).Results There was significant difference in SonACT, clot rate and PF at T1 among the 3 groups: the SonACT was significantly shorter in Groups B and C than in Group A, the clot rate was significantly higher in Group B than in Group C, and the PF was significantly lower in Group C than in Group A. At T2 , the SonACT was significantly prolonged in all 3 groups, the clot rate was significantly decreased in Groups A and B, and the PF was significantly decreased in Group A.Conclusion There are significant differences in blood coagulation and PF among the 3 different age groups of children with cyanotic congenital heart disease after induction of anesthesia and CPB has different effects on their blood coagulation and PF.
