RESUMO

Objective:To analyze the correlation between related indexes of serum lipid and insulin resistance and cognitive impairment in middle-aged and elderly people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).Methods:In this cross-sectional study, 262 middle-aged and elderly patients with a Montreal Cognitive Function Scale (MoCA) cognitive score greater than or equal to 18 points who underwent physical examination in the Health Management Center of Beijing Tiantan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from January 1 to July 31, 2021 were selected as subjects. According to the cognitive function and MoCA score, the patients were divided into MCI group (143 cases) and normal cognition group (119 cases). Basic data, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol, apolipoprotein E(ApoE) genotype and other clinical indicators were collected. Hypothesis test was used to compare the differences in basic data, related indicators of blood lipid and insulin resistance between the two groups. Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between related indicators of blood lipid and insulin resistance and MoCA score in the two groups.Results:The age and the proportion of patients with hypertension, coronary heart disease and diabetes in the MCI group were all significantly higher than those in normal cognition group [(54.83±8.29) vs (50.76±6.34) years, 37.76% vs 31.93%, 4.20% vs 0.84%, 16.08% vs 8.40%] (all P<0.05). The elevation of serum TG ( r=-0.50, 95% CI:-0.88--0.12), TG glucose product index (TyG) ( r=-0.75, 95% CI:-1.29--0.20) and TG to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (TG/HDL-C) ( r=-0.52, 95% CI:-0.91--0.13) were all negatively correlated with MoCA score (all P<0.05). After adjusting for age and gender, the elevation of TG ( r=-0.39, 95% CI:-0.75--0.31) and TG/HDL-C ( r=-0.43, 95% CI:-0.80--0.05) were both still negatively correlated with MoCA score (both P<0.05). There was no significant correlation between all indexes and MoCA scores in the normal cognition group (all P>0.05). The elevated TG was negatively correlated with MoCA score in the MCI group ( r=-0.70, 95% CI:-1.23-0.16, P=0.017). There was no significant correlation between elevated TG and MoCA score in patients carrying ApoE ε2 and ApoE ε3 genotypes in MCI group (all P>0.05). Conclusion:Elevated related indexes of blood lipids and insulin resistance are negatively correlated with cognitive scores in middle-aged and elderly people with MCI, and it′s more obvious in patients with ApoE ε4 genotype.

@#Objective - To analyze the effect of using vibration tools on the prevalence of work related musculoskeletal disorders ( ) Methods , - WMSDs in automobile factory workers. By judgment sampling method front line workers with more than one year of working experience in an automobile factory were selected as the research subjects. Musculoskeletal Disorders Questionnaire was used for investigation. The workers were divided into the control group and the vibration tool group. The propensity score ∶ , matching method was used to balance the confounding factors of the two groups of workers by 1 1 and 568 people were Results included in each group. The prevalence of WMSDs was compared between the two groups after matching. After , , , , , , matching the prevalence of WMSDs in the shoulder elbow hand/wrist upper back waist hip/buttock and knee of workers in , ( P ) the vibration tool group was higher than that in the control group and the differences were statistically significant all <0.05 ., The prevalence of WMSDs in different body parts of workers in the vibration tool group ranking from high to low was waist , , , , , , , , , , neck shoulder hand/wrist upper back knee ankle/foot elbow and hip/buttock with the rate of 74.3% 61.3% 54.2% , , , , , (P ) Conclusions 54.0% 50.9% 39.4% 35.2% 31.0% and 27.1% respectively <0.01 . The use of vibration tools can , , , , , increase the risk of WMSDs in shoulder elbow hand/wrist upper back waist hip/buttock and knee of automobile factory workers. Corresponding measures should be taken to reduce vibration intensity and reduce contact time to protect workers'

RESUMO

Renal amyloidosis secondary to anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis is extremely rare. Here, we reported a 77-year-old woman with ANCA-associated vasculitis. Renal biopsy with Masson trichrome staining showed pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis, and electron microscopy showed amyloid deposition in the mesangial area. Immunofluorescence revealed kappa light chain and lambda light chain negative. Bone marrow biopsy revealed no clonal plasma cell. Finally, she was diagnosed as ANCA-associated vasculitis with secondary renal amyloid A amyloidosis.

The methods for determining the characteristic chromatogram and index components content of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction were established to provide a scientific basis for the quality evaluation of substance benchmarks and preparations. Eighteen batches of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction were prepared with the decoction pieces of different batches and of the same batch were prepared respectively, and the HPLC characteristic chromatograms of these samples were established. The similarities of the chromatographic fingerprints were analyzed. With liquiritin, glycyrrhizic acid, 6-gingerol, ginsenoside Rg_1, and ginsenoside Re as index components, the high performance liquid chromatography was established for content determination with no more than 70%-130% of the mass average as the limit. The results showed that there were 19 characteristic peaks corresponding to the characteristic chromatograms of 18 batches of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction, including 8 peaks representing liquiritin, 1,5-O-dicaffeoylqunic acid, ginsenoside Rg_1, ginsenoside Re, 1-O-acetyl britannilactone, ginsenoside Rb_1, glycyrrhizic acid, and 6-gingerol, and the fingerprint similarity was greater than 0.97. The contents of liquiritin, glycyrrhizic acid, 6-gingerol, and ginsenosides Rg_1 + Re in the prepared Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction samples were 0.53%-0.86%, 0.61%-1.2%, 0.023%-0.068%, and 0.33%-0.66%, respectively. Except for several batches, most batches of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction showed stable contents of index components, with no discrete values. The characteristic chromatograms and index components content characterized the information of Inulae Flos, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens in Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction. This study provides a scientific basis for the further research on the key chemical properties of substance benchmark and preparations of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction.

OBJECTIVES@#To study the effect of levothyroxine sodium tablets on the growth and development and thyroid function in preterm infants with thyroid dysfunction.@*METHODS@#A retrospective analysis was performed for 82 preterm infants who were born in the Department of Obstetrics of the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2017, and these infants were hospitalized after birth in the Department of Neonatology of the hospital. They were regularly followed up to observe growth and development and thyroid function at the outpatient service of the Department of Neonatology. According to thyroid function test results, they were divided into an abnormal thyroid function group (observation group; @*RESULTS@#There were no significant differences in physical development indices (body length, body weight, and head circumference) between the observation and control groups at various gestational ages after follow-up to the corrected age of 12 months (@*CONCLUSIONS@#Early diagnosis and reasonable treatment can reduce the impact on growth and development in preterm infants with thyroid dysfunction. Most preterm infants tend to have transient thyroid dysfunction, while those with positive results of neonatal screening are more likely to develop permanent thyroid dysfunction.

RESUMO

Rituximab (RTX), as a monoclonal antibody of CD20 acting on B cell epitopes, has been applied to the field of kidney since 2005, and has become a research hotspot in the clinical treatment of glomerulonephritis. At present, in addition to its clinical safety and efficacy, some researchers are still committed to explore the mechanism of RTX in the treatment of renal diseases, trying to find out whether there is a specific target in renal tissue. In this paper, the mechanism of RTX in the treatment of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is reviewed.

OBJECTIVE@#To study the association of copy number of SMN1 and SMN2 with clinical phenotypes in children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).@*METHODS@#A total of 45 children with SMA were enrolled. Multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification was used to measure the gene copy numbers of SMN1 and SMN2. The association of copy number of SMN1 and SMN2 with clinical phenotypes was analyzed.@*RESULTS@#Of the 45 children with SMA, 42 (93%) had a homozygous deletion of SMN1 exons 7 and 8, and 3 (7%) had a deletion of SMN1 exon 7 alone. No association was found between SMA clinical types and the deletion types of SMN1 exons 7 and 8 (P>0.05). There was a significant difference in the distribution of SMN2 gene copy numbers between the children with SMA and the healthy children (P<0.05). The children with SMA usually had two or three copies of SMN2 gene, while the healthy children usually had one or two copies of SMN2 gene. There was a significant difference in the distribution of SMN2 copy numbers among the children with different SMA clinical types (P<0.05). The children with two copies of SMN2 gene had a significantly lower age of onset than those with three or four copies. Most of the children with type I SMA had two or three copies of SMN2 gene. Most of the children with type II SMA had three copies of SMN2 gene. Most of the children with type III SMA had three or four copies of SMN2 gene. Children with a higher copy number of SMN2 gene tended to have an older age of onset and better motor function and clinical outcome, and there was a significant association between SMN2 gene copy number and clinical outcome (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#The SMN2 gene can reduce the severity of SMA via the dosage compensation effect. SMN2 copy number is associated with the phenotype of SMA, and therefore, it can be used to predict disease severity.

Traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) glues,including leather glues,horn glues,nail glues and bone glues,have a long application history and unique characteristics. In recent years,their market demand has increased year by year because of their remarkable curative efficacy and nourishing effects,which leads to insufficient supply of raw material resources,and widespread use of fake and inferior products,seriously affecting the reputation of TCM glues and drug safety. In this context,the establishment of a more specific quality detection method for the TCM glues according to their specific characteristics can effectively improve the quality control level,promote rational use,and have a far-reaching impact on the industrial development of TCM glues. In this paper,the classification of TCM glues,as well as the production and application status of their representative( Ejiao) were briefly introduced; the papers on quality control technologies of TCM glues,including traditional identification experience,authenticity identification,physical property determination,protein,peptide and amino acid contents determination,element analysis,biological evaluation,and brand protection technology of TCM glues,were reviewed,and their advantages and disadvantages were summarized and analyzed comprehensively.Based on the specific characteristics of TCM glues,such as complex material basis,unclear pharmacodynamic components and different production processes,it was proposed in this paper to research and develop information-rich,convenient,fast,and non-destructive analytical techniques for the quality control of TCM glues and brand protection of famous products,thus promoting the healthy development of TCM glues industry.

Objective To analyze the general characteristics of voluntary blood donors, and to provide the basis for establishing effective recruitment mechanism. Methods The information of all whole blood donors (including mobile blood collection cars on the streets , blood donation houses and team blood donors) from 2006 to 2015 was obtained from the Zhejiang blood management information system. The sex, age, occupation, weight, and the amount of blood donation at a time of blood donors were descriptively analyzed. Results There were 5299700 frequencies of donating blood in Zhejiang Province from 2006 to 2015. The annual frequency was on the rise, with an average annual growth rate of 2.99%. There were 3098500 frequencies of male and 2201300 of female with the ratio of 1.4 :1. The frequency of female has declined since 2010. The majority of voluntary blood donors ranged from 18 to 45 years old, and the percentage was 91.44% . The ratios of staff, students and workers were 14.61%, 12.27%, 10.09%, respectively. The annual frequency of staff was on the rise, with an average annual growth rate of 7.71%. The frequency of workers was on the decline, and the frequency of students fluctuated over the years. The ratio of blood donation 400 mL at a time was 41.23%. For 400 mL blood donation at a time, the ratio of male donors (48.86%) was significantly higher than the female donors (30.50%, P<0.001) . In addition, the ratio of blood donation 400 mL at a time was proportional to age and body weight (P<0.001) . Conclusion In Zhejiang Province, the frequency of blood donation has increased year by year. Staff, students and workers with 18 to 45 years old are the main force of blood donation. The frequency of female blood donation has a tendency of dropping, and the ratio of blood donation 400 mL at a time is relatively low. It's necessary to strengthen the propaganda of blood donation.

RESUMO

Osteosarcoma( OS) is one common type of bone malignancy. Conventional treatments improved survival dramatically. However, conventional therapies have a few effects on patients with metastatic disease. Targeting os-teosarcoma-associated antigen, chimeric antigen receptor-modified T cell( CAR-T) therapy may promote efficacy of treatment. Specific CAR-T treatments of osteosarcoma including targeting HER-2, IL-11Rα, ROR1 and GD2 have shown a certain therapeutic effect on osteosarcoma in some basic and clinical studies.

Thymus,a main organ for T cell development,plays a pivotal role in adaptive immune response and dealing with the threaten from pathogens and tumors.With the deep understanding of the thymus,people have been realizing that the thymus is extremely sensitive to acute and chronic injuries as well as involution with age.Thymus regeneration can recover its function to a certain level.Up to now,these methods including adoptive thymic epithelial progenitor cells immunotherapy,injection of IL-2 and angiogenesis factor and regulation of c-Met signal are able to promote thymus recovery and T cell regeneration.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the effects of initial doses and treatment timing of levothyroxine (L-T4) on the clinical efficacy in children with congenital hypothyroidism (CH).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>This study included 98 children who had an abnormal level of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in neonatal screening in four regions of Yunnan Province and who finally had a confirmed diagnosis of CH. They received treatment with L-T4 and were divided into standard dose group (10-15 μg/kg per day) and low dose group (<10 μg/kg per day) by the therapeutic dose of L-T4. Meanwhile, these patients were also classified into two treatment groups based on the starting time of L-T4 treatment, namely under 2 months old group and more than 2 months old group. The thyroid function and physical and neural development were examined before and after treatment.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared with the low dose group, the standard dose group had a significantly lower TSH level and a significantly higher free thyroxine (FT4) level at 2 weeks after treatment (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in TSH and FT4 levels at other time points after treatment between the standard and low dose groups (P>0.05). The physical and neural development were not significantly different between the two dose groups before and at all time points after treatment (P>0.05). At all time points after treatment, the levels of TSH and FT4 and physical development were not significantly different between the different starting time groups (P>0.05). However, the Gesell score was significantly higher in the under 2 months old group than in the more than 2 months old group at all time points after treatment (P<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The standard dose group has a better treatment outcome than the low dose group, whereas the symptoms of hyperthyroidism deserve close attention. The treatment timing is vital to the neurodevelopment of children with CH. Once diagnosed, the patients should receive treatments immediately.</p>

BACKGROUND:It has been reported that 70% of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) are negative for cytogenetic and genetic markers within 1-5 months after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT),but there are still some patients who have repeatedly varied outcomes in cytogenetic and genetic marker detection.Overall,the negative rate is up to 89.5% at 3-12 months after allo-HSCT.OBJECTIVE:To monitor the changes in cytogenetic and genetic marker expression and to explore the prognostic significance in CML patients undergoing allo-HSCT.METHODS:Seventeen CML patients who had undergone allo-HSCT were enrolled.Chromosome G banding pattern of the bone marrow from these patients were analyzed using short-term culture method and direct method at 30 days,2,3,4,6,12,24,36,48,60,72 months after allo-HSCT.Dual-color fluorescence in situ hybridization was used to detect bcr-abl fusion gene;bcr-abl expressions in primary bone marrow ceils from CML patients were detected using RQ-PCR.Results and conclusion:There were 8/17 cases of male patient/male donor and 7/17cases of male patient/female donor (compatriots).46XX karyotype (women) was detected by multiple reexaminations after transplantation,and there was no Y chromosome or other aberration of chromosome karyotype in their karyotype.Among the 17 cases,1 case of female patient/female donor (compatriots) and 1 case of female patient/male donor (unrelated) manifested 46 XY chromosome karyotype and bcr-abl positive at 1 month after transplantation;after 4 months,these two cases still maintained 46 XY chromosome karyotype but bcr-abl negative;after 4-96 months,the karyotype continued to remain as 46 XY,and bcr-abl (-).Among the 17 cases,1 case of male patient/male donor of full-matched compatriot (brother) manifested that Ph chromosomal bcr-abl gene continuously expressed within 1-12 months after allo-HSCT;then the cases was given donor lymphocyte infusion,and the bcr-abl expression returned to be negative at 48 months after transplantation.To conclude,chromosomal karyotype analysis and bcr-abl fusion gene monitoring provide important reference value for subsequent treatment options and prognosis judgment for CML patients with allo-HSCT.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the common mutation spectrum of α- and β-thalassemia in Yunnan childbearing-aged population.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The common mutation types of α- or β-globin genes were detected by multiple Gap-PCR and the PCR-reversed dot blotting, and the unknown mutation types were determined by DNA sequencing in DNA samples of hypochromic microcytic anemia patients and carriers who were confirmed to be positive by serologic screaning, then the mutation types of globin in Yunnan population were analyzed statistically.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>A total of 40 kinds of mutation types were detected in 685 detected persons, among them the 3 commonest mutation types of α-globin genes were --(SEA)/αα (49.09%), -α(3.7)/αα (36.67%) and α(CS)α/αα (8.79%), the 3 commonest genetypes of β-globin gene were CD26(GAG>AAG)/N (43.78%), CD41-42(-CTTT)/N (20.1%) and CD17(AAG>TAG)/N (18.9%). There were 348 Han and 212 Dai ethnic persons in 685 cases, but their mutation of globin genes were different between these 2 ethnic groups. The results also showed that the gene mutation types were mostly concentrated in Dai ethnic individuals, since 28 of 38 detected α-β-thalassemia cases were Dai ethnic individuals.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The mutation spectrums of α- and β-globin genes in Yunnan childbearing-aged population are diverse and different from that in other areas of China.</p>

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To summarize and analyze neonatal screening results for congenital hypothyroidism (CH) in parts of Yunnan Province, China.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>A total of 236 218 newborns (121 463 males and 114 755 females) who were born in Zhaotong City, Qujing City, Lijiang City, and Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, China, between July 2012 and April 2014 were screened for CH. The original blood smear was re-tested if the thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level in heel blood was ≥8 μIU/L in the initial screening. The newborns with positive TSH results were called back for further diagnosis by measuring blood TSH and free thyroxine (FT4) levels.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Among 236 218 newborns, the pass rate of blood smears, re-acquisition rate of unqualified blood smears, and recall rate of suspected cases were 96.67%, 81.75%, and 73.02%, respectively. Sixty-six cases of CH were confirmed, among which 36 were male infants and 30 were female infants (P>0.05). The incidence rate of CH was 1/3 579, which was significantly lower than the national average rate (1/2 034; P<0.01). The gestational age of CH newborns was mostly between 37 to 42 weeks, and only 3% were born at a gestational age of >42 weeks. Most of the CH newborns had normal birth weight. The CH newborns with a body length of <50 cm accounted for 32%.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The incidence of CH in Yunnan Province is lower than the national average. There are no specific clinical features in CH newborns. The neonatal screening in Yunnan Province needs further improvement.</p>

[Objective] To observe the effects of Oysters, Abalone shel , Concha arcae, Mother-of-pearl, Concha cypraeae, Clamshel , these six testacean TCM on the goiter rats. [Method] 72 healthy SD rats were randomly divided into nine groups:normal group, model group, positive group and six testacean TCM groups. Rats were given daily propylthiouracil (0.15 g·kg-1), continuous modeling for 10d, weighing thyroid wet weight,assaying T3, T4 and TSH contents in serum by ELISA, observing the morphological changes of thyroid under light microscope. [Result] Rats in the model group compared with normal group in-creased the relative weight of thyroid, reduced the content of T3,T4, and there was a significant difference( P<0.01), thyroid fol icular epithelial cellhyperplasia was obvious;compared with the model group, Oysters and Clamshel group made the content of T3,T4 in rat rebound, and there was a significant difference (P<0.05);Oyster and Clamshel group’s thyroid fol icular cellhyperplasia were not obvious, while the hyperplasia had different levels for the other 4 kinds of testacean TCM. [Conclusion] Oysters and Clamshel were better to improve the thyroid function of the goiter model rats.

We investigated the contribution of the duration of overdistention (DOD) to rat bladder function and morphology and explored its possible molecular mechanisms. Bladder overdistention was induced in male Sprague-Dawley rats (200-250 g) by an infusion of saline. Forty rats were divided into 5 groups submitted to different DOD, i.e., 1, 2, 4, and 8 h, and control. Bladder function was evaluated by cystometry. Morphological changes were observed by light and transmission electron microscopy. Compared to control (44.567 ± 3.472 cmH2O), the maximum detrusor pressure of groups with 2-, 4- and 8-h DOD decreased significantly (means ± SEM): 32.774 ± 3.726, 31.321 ± 2.847, and 29.238 ± 3.724 cmH2O. With the increase of DOD, inflammatory infiltration and impairment of ultrastructure were more obvious in bladder tissue. Compared to control (1.90 ± 0.77), the apoptotic indexes of groups with 1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-h DOD increased significantly (6.47 ± 2.10, 10.66 ± 1.97, 13.91 ± 2.69, and 18.33 ± 3.28%). Compared to control (0.147 ± 0.031/0.234 ± 0.038 caspase 3/β-actin and Bax/Bcl-2 ratios), both caspase 3/β-actin and Bax/Bcl-2 ratios of 1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-h DOD increased significantly (0.292 ± 0.037/0.508 ± 0.174, 0.723 ± 0.173/1.745 ± 0.471, 1.104 ± 0.245/4.000 ± 1.048, and 1.345 ± 0.409/8.398 ± 3.332). DOD plays an important role in impairment of vesical function and structure. With DOD, pro-apoptotic factors increase and anti-apoptotic factors decrease, possibly contributing to the functional deterioration and morphological changes of the bladder.

This study was purposed to investigate the effect of ABO-incompatible allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) on erythroid lineage hematopoiesis. The changes of ABO group, IgM and IgG antibody in 16 patients received ABO-incompatible allo-HSCT were detected. The results showed that ABO-incompatible allo-HSCT were successfully engrafted in 16 patients, and there was no difference in reconstitution of platelets and neutrophils between ABO-incompatible and ABO-compatible transplantation (p > 0.05). The time of erythroid lineage reconstitution was prolonged (p < 0.05), the disappearance time of isoagglutinins against donor-type RBC in major and bidirectional ABO-incompatible recipients was correlated with the time of erythroid lineage reconstitution. It is concluded that ABO-incompatible allo-HSCT may lead to prolong recovery of erythroid lineage hematopoiesis. Before transplantation, the removal of anti-donor isoagglutinins by plasmapheresis or transfusion of donor's erythrocytes for neutralizing the isoagglutinins against donor's erythrocytes in the recipients may facilitate RBC engraftment and reduce erythrocyte transfusion.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the correlation between methylation status and gene expression of APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) gene in HeLa, CaSki and SiHa cell lines of cervical carcinoma, and explore the effect of hydralazine on the transcription regulation of the 5'CpG island demethylation of APC gene and the proliferation and apoptosis of the cell lines.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Methylation status and the expression of APC gene were analyzed using methylated specific PCR, RT-PCR and FQ-PCR methods. The expression of beta-catenin protein which correlates closely with APC was detected by SP method after treatment with Hydralazine. MTT and FCM assays were used to observe the changes of proliferation activity and apoptosis of the cells after Hydralazine treatment.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>(1) APC gene was methylated or hemimethylated respectively in HeLa and CaSki cell lines, at the same time, APC gene was not methylated in SiHa cell. (2) After having been treated by 40 micromol/L Hydralazine for 72 hours, growth inhibitory ratios of HeLa, CaSki and SiHa cell lines were (52.12 +/- 3.78)%, (44.31 +/- 2.59)% and (47.73 +/- 4.73)% respectively, on the contrary, normal cell HECV's growth inhibitory ratio was only (27.18 +/- 0.79)%. APC gene in HeLa and CaSki cell lines which were treated by 40 micromol/L Hydralazine for 72 hours was demethylated and expressed positively, the expression of APC mRNA in HeLa, CaSki and SiHa cell lines increased to 10.35, 11.40 and 0.73 times respectively. (3) Hydralazine, when used at the concentration of 40 micromol/L for 72 hours, induced S phase and G2/M phase arrest and apoptosis in HeLa and CaSki cells. beta-catenin protein can be expressed in cell membrane after treatment with Hydralazine.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>APC gene methylation plays an important role in the carcinogenesis of cervical cells and can re-express after the treatment with Hydralazine which also could inhibit the growth of the cervical cancer cells.</p>

Mammary tissue differentiation and tumorigenesis were studied in female rats following subcutaneous injection at 2, 4 and 6 days after birth with low or high doses of 17beta-estradiol (0.1 or 10 microg; E2), biochanin A (0.1 or 10 mg; BCA) or bisphenol A (0.1 or 10.0 mg; BPA). Half of the rats were killed on day 35 to analyze the terminal end bud (TEB), terminal duct (TD) and alveolar bud (AB) of the mammary tissue. The remaining rats were injected, ip, with a dose of 50 mg/kg of N-nitroso-N-methylurea (MNU) at 7 weeks of age and sacrificed 26 weeks later. The incidence and multiplicity of mammary tumors (MT) decreased among all three different treated groups, dose-dependently. However, the pattern of mammary gland differentiation varied. No significant difference was observed after E2 administration. TEB decreased dose-dependently in BCA treated groups and the number of TD and AB were suppressed significantly in BPA high dose group.
