RESUMO
Objective To study the clinical curative effect of Fuzheng Qingfei Huatan method in the treatment of elderly pulmonary infection. Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with pulmonary infection who were admitted into the hos pital during April 2011 to January 2013 were selected as the research objects, and were randomly divided into two groups with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, while the obser-vation group on the basis of the control group, was additionally treated with Fuzheng Qingfei Huatan Decoction. The clinical efficacy and changes of pulmonary function parameters before and after the treatment was compared between the two groups. Results After the treatment, TLC and VC in the observation group was (58.11士12.31)dL and (66.24士13.11)dL, which was significantly higher than (56.13士11.48)dL and (62.47士11.78)dL in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). DLCO(65.17士10.41)mmHg in the observation group, was higher than (55.87士12.16)mmHg in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.0% which was higher than 80.0% of the control group and the difference was sta-tistically significant (P<0.05) No obvious adverse reactions were found in two groups, the liver and kidney function, and the routine examination of blood and urine were not abnormal. Conclusion The effect of Fuzheng Qingfei Huatan decoction in the treatment of elderly patients with pulmonary infection is significant. It can improve the cure rate of patients, reduce the mortality rate, improve pulmonary function and improve the quality of life of the patients.
