RESUMO

Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. Not only the complex molecular components but also the cellular heterogeneity in NSCLC tissues pose a great barrier for its clinical treatment. Recent years has witnessed the widespread application of single-cell sequencing in the studies regarding tumor heterogeneity. However, the disadvantages of single-cell sequencing technology itself could not be neglected. Spatial transcriptome(ST) technology allows in situ transcriptome sequencing of tissues to achieve high-throughput transcriptomic information of tissue cells with their spatial information available. In other words, ST makes it possible to acquire cellular composition and gene expression patterns without breaking intercellular communication network, which distinguishes itself from conventional single-cell sequencing, since mechanical separation and enzymatic digestion of tissue cells into single-cell suspension used to be inevitable during the performance of single-cell sequencing. To gain new insights into the spatial heterogeneity of NSCLC, we reviewed and summarized the latest progress in ST technology which has been applied to tumor sample analysis, especially to the field of NSCLC.

RESUMO

Objective To study any changes in the surface electromyography of the paraspinal muscles before and after surgery in patients with degenerative lumbar kyphosis. Methods Thirty patients with lumbar degenerative kyphosis (LDK) were enrolled and underwent pedicle subtraction osteotomy.Surface electromyograms were recorded before the operation and 3 months afterward to observe the myoelectric activity of the paraspinal muscles. The electromyograms were also compared with those of healthy counterparts. Results The preoperative average EMG (AEMG) values in the LDK group in static standing were significantly higher than those of the control group. After the operation the values had decreased significantly, but were still significantly higher than in the control group. The preoperative AEMG values of the LDK group from the L1-2 segment during torso stretching were significantly lower than those of the control group. They increased significantly after the operation and were no longer significantly different from the control groups' readings. The pre-and post-operative AEMG values from the L4-5 segment were not significantly different and remained significantly lower than in the control group.During lifting and holding the mean power frequency slopes of the LDK group were significantly lower than those of the controls both before and after the operation, though the postoperative slopes were significantly higher than the preoperative ones. Conclusion Patients with lumbar degenerative kyphosis have obvious paraspinal muscle weakness and severe fatigue.Early pedicle subtraction osteotomy can significantly improve the functional status of the paravertebral muscles in the short term.

RESUMO

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Sanyinjiao acupoint sticking with Gushen Yutai Tie on threatened abortion. Methods A total of 216 women diagnosed with threatened abortion were randomly assigned to trial group (108 cases) and control group (108 cases). Both groups were treated with TCM syndrome differentiation treatment and progesterone soft capsule, and the trial group was treated with Gushen Yutai Tie acupoint sticking at Sanyinjiao (SP6) additionally. One treatment course was five days, and both groups were treated for three courses. Vaginal bleeding and lower abdominal pain, lumbar pain, nausea and vomiting were observed, pulsatility index (PI) and resistance index (RI) of the uterine artery were detected after treatment. Results The total effective rate in the trial group was 97.22% (105/108), which was significantly higher than that of 90.74% (98/108) in the control group (P<0.05). Symptom scores in the trial group were also significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). PI and RI in the ineffective (pregnancy failure) group were much lower than that of effective (threatened abortions with normal outcome) group (P<0.01). Conclusion The treatment that Gushen Yutai Tie acupoint sticking at Sanyinjiao combined with TCM syndrome differentiation and progesterone soft capsule had a better effect to improve pregnancy success rate in threatened abortion. PI and RI in uterine artery could be used to evaluate the outcome of pregnancy.

RESUMO

Objective Patient safety is key to quality of care in hospital management, for which drug safety is critical. General hospitals are challenged with how to monitor drug adverse reaction (ADR), and motivate their staff to report ADRs in building a hospital safety culture. Methods The PDCA cycle quality improvement process was called into play, to set the ADR criteria and analyze data of inpatients' ADRs from 2005 to 2009, which was followed by measures proposed for ADR continuous improvement. Results A total of 2850 ADR cases were reported in the past 5 years, averaging 570 cases per year. The ADR incidence rate was 3. 28%, of which 43 were severe ADR cases, or 0. 49% of the total cases, accounting for 1. 51% of all the ADR cases. Year to year, the quantity and quality of ADR reporting have been improving in the hospital, witnessing an initial culture of drug safety. In 2008, the hospital was awarded as an advanced ADR center in Beijing. Conclusion The PDCA cycle is an effective means for ADR management, as it can improve the awareness of the medical staff for proactive ADR reporting. Sustained circular management against ADRs can minimize risks and maximize patient safety.Under-reporting and the corrective measures shall be watched over by the hospital in the future.
