RESUMO

ObjectiveTo investigate the methods of reducing eye injury in phacoemulsification.MethodsPhacoemulsification with intraocular lens(IOL)implantation was performed on 98 cases(98 eyes)of cataract using a new type of phaco tip(MicroTip)with high vaccum and low energy. All the nuclei was harder than Grade Ⅳ.Postoperative visual acuity and eye injury were observed, including corneal edema, anterior chamber in flammation, intraocular pressure,IOL position and retinal condition.ResultsPostoperative visual acuity is 0.5 or better in all cases,1.0 ? or better in 28 cases(28.6%).The complication during operation, such as anterior chamber hemorrhage, posterior capsule rupture and vitreous loss, did not occur.Postoperative complications were very slight. Two eyes(2%)suffered mild corneal edema that lasted no more than a week.No other complications were found.ConclusionMicroTip is a kind of safe and effective facility for phacoemusification, with which we can reduce the eye injury, especially dealing with the hard nuclei.

RESUMO

The identification traumatic cataract must be based on the optical dysopia after ocular injuries. 72 cases of traumatic cataract were classified into 3 groups according to the classification of WHO about optical dysopia. There were 9 cases low vision, 58 cases blind and 5 incorporated cases after injuries. After operation, there were 12 cases that stenopeic spectacles vision was 0.4~1.2, 29 cases were low vision, 26 cases blind. The results suggested that the vision of traumatic cataract could be changed after operation, and the best time for forensic identification could be 1 or 2 months after operation.

RESUMO

Cataract surgery is not a simple procedure. Both proper evaluation of preoperation and communication with patients are very important steps to attain success of the surgery. The preoperative evaluation includes indication of the surgery, methods to prevent the occurrence of surgical complications, individual selection of intraocular lens, and so on.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy after implantation of preloaded aspheric intraocular lens.Design Retrospective case series.Participants 74 patients(82 eyes)with age-related cataract:38 patients(43 eyes)in group A(control group),36 patients(39 eyes)in group B(case group). Methods 74 patients(82 eyes)were randomly selected to receive phacoemulsification with KS-3(group A)and KS-3Ai(group B)IOL implantation. The wavefront aberrations and contract sensitivity were measured 3 months post-operatively.Main Outcome Measures Wavefront aberrations and contract sensitivity. Results No complications occurred in both gruops. In 1.0deg,0.7deg,the mean contract sensitivity in group A were lower than those in group B(t =3.69,2.71;P

RESUMO

Sight restoring for cataract patients in countryside has been made great progress by years of effort, including floating medical team of ophthalmology, and "Vision First-China in Action" activity. Establishment of stable rural basic medical unit for prevention of blindness is recommended as an effective way in the long run because it is able to put the prevention of blindness in the list of the priorities by the local government, facilitate cataract patients to be treated at the local committee, offer local doctors great opportunities for training, and finally establish the rural network for prevention of blindness.
