RESUMO

Anatomy is an important medical course for international medical students. In order to improve the teaching quality and enhance the extent of students' learning, teachers integrated the theoretical and experimental courses of systemic anatomy, and introduced the "Digital Human" anatomical system to compensate the shortage of models, so as to realize the integrated theory and experiment teaching of systematic anatomy. Practice indicated that integrated teaching mode of theory and experiment was more consistent with the learning habits of foreign students, which improved their learning effect with significant advantages. But there were still some problems in this teaching mode and measures for solving these problems were proposed in this paper.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND:Retinoic acid signaling pathways is very important in the formation pf nervous system, specialization of neurons and outgrowth of axons. The recent studies show that, retinoic acid plays an important role in the process of axonal regeneration, but few research reports its exact molecular mechanism. OBJECTIVE:To analyze and summarize the mechanism underlying retinoic acid signaling pathways in the process of axonal regeneration. METHODS:A computer-based online research was conducted among the VIP, CNKI, PubMed, BioMed Centeral, Springer, The Free Medical Journals, EBSCO and Foreign Journals Integration System between January 2000 and December 2013, with the key words of“retinoic acid, the central nervous system, nerve damage, axon regeneration, and mechanism”in Chinese and English. A total of 43 studies addressing the molecular mechanism of retinoic acid in axonal regeneration were screened. According to the supplementary documents, another five references were added. Repetitive research and atypical reports were excluded. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Fol owing acute central nervous system injury, axonal regeneration and functional recovery are extremely limited. For proper functionality fol owing injury, axons must regrow, reinnervate their targets, and remyelinate their axons. When the central nervous system injuries occur, retinoic acid signaling pathways express transcription factor retinoic acid receptorβ2 to induce axonal regeneration fol owing injury;in dorsal root ganglion neurons, cAMP levels are greatly increased by lentiviral retinoic acid receptorβ2 expression and contribute to neurite outgrowth. More recently, retinoic acid-retinoic acid receptorβ2 pathways directly transcriptional y repress a member of the inhibitory Nogo receptor complex, Lingo-1, under an axonal growth inhibitory environment in vitro as wel as fol owing spinal cord injury in vivo. Through these molecular mechanisms, retinoic acid signaling pathways play its important role in the process of axonal regeneration.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of using basiliximab in place of a corticosteroid for immunosuppression following liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in Chinese patients.Method The records of 178 patients with HCC who underwent orthotopic liver transplantation from January 2003 to December 2009 were retrospectively reviewed. All patients received immunosuppression therapy that contained either basiliximab (n =78) or steroids (n =100) in addition to tacrolimus and mycophenolate mofetil.Assessments included complications related to liver transplantation, occurrence of steroid side effects, recurrence of HCC,and patient and graft survival. Results A smaller proportion of patients receiving basiliximab than steroids experienced de novo diabetes (38.7% vs.91.0%,respectively) or long-term de novo diabetes mellitus (4.0% vs.30.3%,respectively) (both,P<0.0001).The median overall and disease free survival was similar between basiliximab (50.8 months and 19.6 months, respectively) and steroid treated patients (64.2 months and 23.8 months, respectively). The 5-year overall survival and disease free survival rate was also similar between the basiliximab (42.5% and 38.9%,respectively) and steroid (50.5% and 39.2%) groups (all,P>0.730).However,in patients who met the Milan criteria basiliximab was associated with greater 5 year overall survival rate than steroid therapy (88.9% vs.57.4%,respectively,P =0.022).Conclusion It revealed that the non-steroid treatment does not increase the incidence of acute rejection but also can decrease the incidence of de novo diabetes in the patients with HCC following liver transplantation and prolong the survival time of patients who met the Milan criteria.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effect and the mechanism of up-regulating histone acetylizad level with a selective inhibitor of HDACs-Valproate acid sodium (VPA) on breast cancer cell proliferation. Methods MCF-7 cells were cultured with 0.75-4.0 mmol/L valproic acid (VPA) for 24, 48, 72, 96 hours in vitro, the inhibiting rate was tested by MTT assay. Cell cycle was analyzed by flow eytome- try with PI assay, and the protein and mRNA expressions of Cyelin A, Cyclin DI, Cyclin E, P21Waf/cipl of MCF-7 cells after 1.5, 3.0 mmol/ L VPA treated were analyzed by indirect immunofluorescence technique and RT-PCR respectively. Results After cultured with 0.75 -4.0 mmol/L valproic acid (VPA) for 24, 48, 72, 96 hours, the inhibiting rate of experimental groups increased significantly(P<0.01) and a dose and acting time dependent manner was found. As to cell cycle, the percentages of GI, S, M phrase in control groups remained the same. Contrary to control groups, 0. 75 -4.0 mmo]/L VPA induced a significant arrest in G1 phrase ( P<0.01), and a total of 55.4% -82.8% G1 phrase ratio were found. P21Waf/cipl was up-regulated both at the mRNA and protein level while Cyclin D1 was down-regulated ( P<0.001). Conversely, neither mRNA nor protein expression of Cyclin A, Cyclin E showed difference ( P>0.05). Conclusions Up- regulating histone acetylizad level can inhibit breast cancer cell proliferation, induce cell cycle arrest in G1 phrase. VPA, as a I class of histone deaeetylase inhibitor, can be used as an option in the treatment of breast cancer. The mechanism may include up-regulating P21Waf/cipl mRNA and protein expression and down-regulating Cyclin D1 mRNA and protein expression.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo explore the characteristics of the portal vein hemodynamics and the correlation with the portal vein pressure.

METHODSThere were 41 cases of hepatic cirrhosis complicating portal hypertension. The liver function was graded Child-Pugh A+B in 31 cases and Child-Pugh C in 10 cases. The inner-diameter and blood stream speed of the portal vein (PV), the spleen vein (SV) and the superior mesentery vein (SMV) were measured by the color Doppler ultrasonography. The vascular acreage and blood flow volume were calculated. The portal vein pressure was directly measured during the operation. Thirty-two healthy people and 26 patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) served as controls in this study.

RESULTSThe inner-diameter of the three veins was obviously wider and the blood flow speed was slower in two portal hypertension groups than in CHB and normal groups (P<0.01). In Child C group, the speed was the slowest. The speed of SV and SMV in two hypertension groups did not show any significant difference (P>0.05). In Child A+B group, the blood flow volume of the three veins was larger than that in normal and CHB groups (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The volume of PV was less in Child C group than Child A+B group (P<0.01), but the volume of SV and SMV was not obviously different (P>0.05). In Child A+B group, the portal vein pressure (Ppv) had a close correlation with the portal vein width, blood flow quantitation (Qpv), and blood stream volume (Qsv) of the spleen vein.

CONCLUSIONSThe Qpv in Child A+B grade can be measured by the color Doppler ultrasonography technique, and the portal vein pressure can be monitored easily by the equation of Ppv=1.8951+0.0011Qpv.

RESUMO

ObjectiveTo evaluate the therapeutic effect of combined portoazygous devascularization and shunt on portal hypertension. MethodsThe data of 56 cases of portal hypertension treated with portoazygous devascularization and shunt from April 1987 to April 1999 was summarized. ResultsThere was no death in 54 patients receiving selective operation;of 2 cases receiving emergency operation, one died. Among 49 followed-up cases, there was one rebleeding,2 hepatic encephalopathy, and one died of liver failure 4 years after opeation. The mean portal pressure before and after operation was(3.42±0.46) kPa and (2.50±0.35) kPa, respectively. ConclusionCombined portoazygons devascularization and shunt not only decreases portal pressure but preserve hepatic blood flow to some extent.

RESUMO

Objective:To investigate the association between the single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) of transporter associated with interleukin2(IL-2),interleukin4(IL-4)and the susceptibility of hepatitis B in north China. Methods:Genomic DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood leukocytes of hepatitis B patients and healthy controls. Two fragments covering -330 of the IL-2 gene and -590 of the IL-4 gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The SNPs were revealed by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RELP).Software PHASE 1.0was used to construct the haplotype of every individual.Unconditional Logitic regression model was used to analyze the statistical association of genotype or haplotype in two groups adjusted by gender and age. Results:There was significant difference in the SNPs of IL2 between the healthy controls and the heptitis B patients in north China.Significant difference was also found in the combination of --/GT to the two groups. Conclusion:SNPs of IL2(-330) may have relation to the susceptibility o heptitis B.--/GT was also related to the susceptibility of heptitis B.These findings suggest that SNPs of IL2 is one of the important host factors to the infection of the heptitis B.
