RESUMO

ObjectiveTo investigate the status of self-efficacy, quality of care and quality of life of people with physical disabilities, and analyze the relationship among them. MethodsFrom January, 2019 to December, 2020, 357 people with physical disabilities in Shandong were selected with cluster stratified random sampling, and all the participants were investigated with a general questionnaire, World Health Organization Quality of Life-Disability Scales, General Self-Efficacy Scale and World Health Organization Quality of Care and Support Scale-Disability Scale on internet. ResultsA total of 357 questionnaires were collected, in which 350 were valid. The total score was (115.00±20.70) for quality of life, (23.33±5.78) for self-efficacy, and (50.43±10.56) for quality of care. The quality of life and its each domain was positively correlated with self-efficacy (r > 0.282, P < 0.01), quality of care, care information acquisition, care giving and care environment (r > 0.369, P < 0.01). Employment, self-efficacy and quality of care associated with the quality of life (t > 4.386, P < 0.001); employment, self-efficacy, care giving and care environment associated with the physiological, psychological and environment domains of the quality of life (t > 2.926, P < 0.01); parents as main caregivers, employment, self-efficacy, care giving and care environment associated with social relationships domain of the quality of life (|t| > 2.525, P < 0.05); parents as main caregivers, employment, care giving and care environment associated with the disability domain of the quality of life (|t| > 2.209, P < 0.05). ConclusionThe quality of life needs to be improved for the people with physical disabilities. Self-efficacy and quality of care may impact the quality of life; and it is needed to focus on the people with physical disabilities who are unemployed and whose parents are the main caregivers.

RESUMO

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. It is urgent to develop new drugs to improve the prognosis of ESCC patients. Here, we found benzydamine, a locally acting non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, had potent cytotoxic effect on ESCC cells. Benzydamine could suppress ESCC proliferation in vivo and in vitro. In terms of mechanism, CDK2 was identified as a target of benzydamine by molecular docking, pull-down assay and in vitro kinase assay. Specifically, benzydamine inhibited the growth of ESCC cells by inhibiting CDK2 activity and affecting downstream phosphorylation of MCM2, c-Myc and Rb, resulting in cell cycle arrest. Our study illustrates that benzydamine inhibits the growth of ESCC cells by downregulating the CDK2 pathway.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND@#Bronchial tuberculosis is a common complication of pulmonary tuberculosis. The present report is to investigate and analyze the indication and efficacy of surgical treatment of bronchial stricture due to severe endobronchial tuberculosis, when the drug and endoscopic treatment were no effect.@*METHODS@#Reviewed the clinical-pathological records documenting the surgical outcomes in 36 bronchial stricture due to severe endobronchial tuberculosis who underwent lobectomy or pneumonectomy enrolled in our hospital between January 2000 and February 2016. Pneumonectomy in 8 cases, lobectomy in 23 cases, sleeve resection in 5 cases.@*RESULTS@#No intraoperative or early postoperative death occurred. Six patients developed complications. All 6 cases recovered well after treatment.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Surgical treatment is still the recommended treatment modatity for bronchial stricture caused by endobronchial tuberculosis due to its good results. It should be performed in time when the drug and intraluninal treatment were no effect for avoiding of being progeressed.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the expression of Fascin in early-stage NSCLC, evaluate the relevance between Fascin expression level and prognosis. Methods The immunohistochemistry method was used to assess the expression of Fas-cin in 111 lung cancer FFPE tissues with stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ NSCLC.The relationship between Fascin expression and the clinico-pathological characteristics was analyzed. The prognostic significance of Fascin expression was evaluated with Kaplan-Meier sur-vival analysis. Results In the early-stage of NSCLC, the positive rate of Fascin expression was 64.8%, no expression in the paracarcinoma tissue. The positive rate of squamous cell carcinoma was 78.7% and was significantly higher than that in adeno-carcinoma 48.0%(P<0.01).Whether in squamous cell carcinoma or adenocarcinoma group, the expression of Fascin was correlated significantly with lymph node metastasis tumor stages and DFS(P<0.05).And the positive expression of Fascin was an independent risk factor of poor prognosis for patient with NSCLC .Conclusion Fascin is expected to be a biomarker for the prognosis of patients with early-stage NSCLC.

RESUMO

Tumor invasion model is an important tool to study the mechanisms of tumor mvasion and to evaluate prevention and treatment of cancer.Compared to the in vitro model,in vivo model can simulate the tumor microenvironment and tumor mvasion biological behaviour better.Morphological observation and invasion-related protein detection can be used to evaluate the animal invasion model, which are widely used in basic and clinical research now.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVEAdenoid cystic carcinoma is primary bronchopulmonary carcinoma with low malignancy, and 43 patients treated in the past 50 years in our hospital were retrospectively studied. The aim of this study is to discuss the clinical symptoms, pathologic characteristic and therapeutic method of primary tracheal or bronchuotracheal adenoid cystic carcinoma.

METHODSThis study summarized total 43 patients of primary tracheal or bronchus adenoid cystic carcinoma treated in our hospital from Jan. 1958 to Dec. 2007. Among them, 40 patients were treated by surgical resection, and 3 patients were treated by fiberoptic bronchoscope's interventional treatment.

RESULTSThe 1-yr, 3-yr, 5-yr survival rates of the 43 patients above were 100% (41/41), 89.5% (34/38), 87.1% (27/31), respectively.

CONCLUSIONPrimary tracheal or bronchus adenoid cystic carcinoma are rare and low malignancy carcinoma. The clinical symptoms of them are not typical. The best treatment is early detection and taking measures of operation plus radiotherapy. The other palliative treatment is fiberoptic bronchoscope's interventional treatment.

RESUMO

BACKGROUNDTo study the role of nm23-H1 and CD44v6 gene in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

METHODSExpressions of nm23-H1 and CD44v6 genes were analyzed in 147 cases of NSCLC by SP immunohistochemistry method.

RESULTSThe overall positive rate of nm23-H1 staining was 62.6% (92/147). Significant differences in the positive rate of nm23-H1 were found between well and poor differentiated groups [68.6% (83/121) [WTBX]vs 34.6% (9/26)], and between adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma , and between adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma [78.8% (52/66) [WTBX]vs 50.8% (32/63) ] ( (P < 0.05), but not between stage I+II and stage III+IV [ 65.3% (62/95) [WTBX]vs 57.7% (30/52) ], and between N0 and N1-3 , and between N0 and N1 3 [64.7% (55/85) [WTBX]vs 59.7% (37/62) ]( ( P > 0.05). The positive rate of nm23-H1 of patients who survived for more than 3 years was 71.4% (55/77), which was significantly higher than 52.9% (37/70) of patients who survived for less than 3 years (Chi-square=5.4, P < 0.05). For CD44v6, the overall positive rate was 63.9% (94/147). Significant differences in the positive rate of CD44v6 were found between well and poor differentiated groups [68.6% (83/121) [WTBX]vs 42.3% (11/26)], and between adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma , and between adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma [53.0% (35/66) [WTBX]vs 77.8% (49/63) ] ( (P < 0.05), but not between stage I+II and stage III+IV [ 66.3% (63/95) [WTBX]vs 59.6% (31/52) ], and between N0 and N1-3 , and between N0 and N1 3 [63.5% (54/85) [WTBX]vs 64.5% (40/62) ]((P > 0.05). The positive rate of CD44v6 of patients who survived for more than 3 years was much lower than that of patients who survived for less than 3 years (43/74 vs 51/70, P < 0.01 ). The 3-year survival rate in patients with nm23-H1(+)CD4v6(-) was significantly higher than those with nm23-H1(-)CV44v6(+) (22/32 vs 11/34, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONSThere are some relationships among expressions of nm23-H1 and CD44v6 in NSCLC and cell differentiation, histological classification and prognosis, and no relation in stage and lymph node metastasis.
