Preparation of a co-processed compound based on mainnitol and starch fordirect compression and properties evaluation / 中国药学杂志

OBJECTIVE: To prepare mannitol and starch co-processed compound for direct compression. METHODS: The compound was prepared with granulation technique, and the ratio of mannitol to starch was 20:1. Then the compound was compared to the physical blend to evaluate its properties. RESULTS: The compound exhibited good flowability, packing rate, compressibility, and shorter disintegration time. It also improved the content uniformity of low dosage formulations. CONCLUSION: The compound is superior to physical blend as drug carrier and suitable for direct compression.
