RESUMO

Acquired fibrokeratoma is a rarely reported disorder. It most commonly involves fingers and toes and usually has size less than 5 mm. Very few cases have been reported in the Indian literature. We report one such case, occurring at an unusual site involving palm of the hand.

RESUMO

Acquired fibrokeratoma is a relatively rare, benign tumor which occurs most frequently on the fingers and toes. Because of the digital predilection, a term of digital fibrokeratoma has been frequently used. We herein present a case of acquired fibrokeratoma occuring on the lip, which is an unusual site for this lesion. A skin-colored and pea-sized papule was found on the lip of a 25-year-old woman. Histopathologic examination revealed typical features of acquired fibrokeratoma.

RESUMO

Aquired fibrokeratoma is a rare, benign tumor which occurs most frequently on the fingers. Because of the digital predilection, a term of digital fibrokeratoma has been frequently used. We present here two cases of acquired fibrokeratoma occurring on the prepatellar area and the proximal nail bed which are unusual sites of this lesion. A skin-colored, hyperkeratotic tumor with finger-like projection was found on the prepatellar area of a 29-year-old man and a round pedunculated nodule was found on the proximal nail bed of second finger of a 74-year-old woman. Histopathologic examination revealed typical features of acquired fibrokeratoma.

RESUMO

We report two cases of acquired fibrokeratoma which occurred on the nose and the elbow. A 0.5 cm sized, dome-shaped normal skin colored nodule was found on the nose of a 70-year-old man and a pedunculated, normal skin colored nodule was found on right elbow of on 18-year-old man. Histopathologic findings showed marked hyperkeratosis and acanthosis in epidermis and thick collagen bundles and dilated thin-walled capillaries were predominantly oriented in the direction of longitudinal axis of the tumor. To our knowledge, acquired fibrokeratoma occurring on the nose and the elbow was not reported.
