O bebê imaginário: uma breve exploração do conceito / The imaginary baby: a brief examination of the concept

No processo de tornar-se mãe figuram fatores de grande importância para o futuro relacionamento a ser estabelecido entre a mulher e seu bebê. Entre eles encontra-se a representação de um bebê imaginário, que durante o período da gravidez constituirá a forma primordial de contato da mãe com seu bebê ainda desconhecido e, posteriormente, determinará a maneira através da qual essa mãe se relacionará com seu bebê. O presente artigo realiza uma breve revisão do conceito de bebê imaginário, proposto por autores psicanalíticos abordando como tópicos organizadores a gestação e a reorganização da identidade, o conceito de bebê imaginário, sua relação com os exames pré-natais e o confronto entre o bebê imaginário e o bebê da realidade.(AU)

In the process of becoming a mother, there are factors of major importance to the establishment of the future relationship between the woman and her baby. Among them, there is the representation of an imaginary baby that, in the course of pregnancy, will constitute the most important connection between the mother and her yet unknown baby, and later, this will determine the way in which this mother will relate to her baby. This article provides a brief review of the concept of the imaginary baby, proposed by psychoanalytic authors, addressing as organizing topics pregnancy and the identity reorganization, the concept of the imaginary baby, their relation with the prenatal testing and the clash between the imaginary baby and the baby of reality.(AU)

O bebê imaginário e o bebê real no contexto da prematuridade: do nascimento ao 3º mês após a alta / The imaginary baby and the real premature baby: form birth to 3 months after discharge

No contexto da prematuridade, o confronto entre o bebê imaginário e o bebê real pode ser bastante intenso. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar as representações sobre o bebê imaginário e o bebê real prematuro, no pós-parto, na pré-alta e no 3º mês após a alta. Participaram quatro mães primíparas de bebês nascidos pré-termos. As mães foram entrevistadas e foi realizada uma análise qualitativa das respostas. Os resultados revelaram a intensificação do confronto entre o bebê imaginário e o bebê real. A elaboração da perda do bebê imaginário e o fortalecimento do vínculo com o filho apareceram, principalmente, no 3º mês após a alta, quando as mães revelaram estarem satisfeitas e orgulhosas com as características e desenvolvimento dos filhos. Dada a complexidade da prematuridade é importante que profissionais da saúde estejam disponíveis para ajudar no vinculo mãe-bebê.

In the context of prematurity, the confrontation between the imaginary baby and the real baby can be very intense. The aim of this study was to investigate the representations of the imaginary baby and real premature baby, in the post-childbirth, pre-discharge and 3 months after discharge period. The participants were four first-time mothers of preterm infants and a collective-case study of a longitudinal character was carried out. Mothers were interviewed and a qualitative content analysis was used. The results revealed an intense confrontation between the imaginary baby and the real baby. The elaboration of the loss of the imaginary baby and the streghtering of the bond with the baby appeared mainly 3 months after discharge. The mothers were happy and proud with the characteristics and development of their babies. Due to the complexity of prematurity it is important that health professionals are available to help in the development of mother-infant bond.

O papel do exame ultrassonográfico na representação do bebê imaginário em primigestas / The role of ultrasound examination in the representation of the imaginary baby in first time mothers / El papel del examen ultrasonográfico en la representación del bebé en primerizas / Le rôle de l'examen ultrasonographique dans la représentation du bébé imaginaire en primigestes

Este estudo objetivou analisar a influência do exame ultrassonográfico na representação psí-quica do bebê imaginado em mulheres que engravidaram pela primeira vez. O mundo repre-sentacional desempenha um importante papel na determinação da natureza do relacionamento dos pais com o bebê. Para este autor convém pensar em dois mundos paralelos: o mundo externo real e o mundo das representações, imaginário e subjetivo, onde existem o bebê real no ventre ou nos braços da mãe e o bebê imaginado em sua mente. O confronto do bebê imaginário com o bebê real, via de regra, acontece após o nascimento, porém atualmente com o advento da ultrassonografia obstétrica, alguns aspectos concretos do bebê podem ser reconhecidos durante a gestação. The aim of this is study is to analyze the influence of ultrasound test in the mental representation of the imagined baby in women who became pregnant for the first time. The representational world plays an important role in determining the nature of the parents' relationship with the baby. For the author is important to think of two parallel worlds: the external real world and the representational subjective world of ideas and imagery, where there is the real baby in the womb or in the mother's arms and the baby pictured in her mind. Cette étude a pour but analyser l'influence de l'échographie dans la représentation psychique du bébé imaginé par les femmes qui tombent enceintes pour la première fois. La représentation du monde joue un rôle important dans la détermination de la nature de la relation des parents avec le bébé. Pour cet auteur il existe deux mondes parallèles : le monde extérieur et le monde réel des instances, imaginaire est subjective, où il y a le vrai bébé dans l'utérus ou dans les bras de la mère et le bébé imaginé dans son esprit. La confrontation des bébés imaginaires avec le bébé réel, se fait toute fois après la naissance, mais aujourd'hui, avec l'avènement de l'échographie obstétricale, certains aspects spécifiques de l'enfant peuvent être reconnu au cours de la grossesse.
