Network communication digital platforms have revolutionized the way we communicate, get information, and entertain ourselves; they have had a major impact on the new generations. The pandemic has increased consumption patterns at all ages and its consequences: a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, sleep, psychological, cognitive, memory/attention, and academic performance disorders, problematic behaviors, and risks of cyberbullying. The activity of the new generations on TikTok a platform that allows them to create, view, share videos and viral challenges has affected their behavior. Their posts lead to likes, comments, and followers; this stimulates the dopaminergic reward system, which is the basis of addictive behaviors. Pediatricians should be aware of these behaviors in order to recommend good practices. The objective of this narrative review, based on the bibliography from PubMed Central, SciELO, national and international recommendations, is to provide information and an update to health care providers on TikTok, its characteristics, and the recommendations for safe use.

Introduction: The Internet is an indispensable resource for people, since it allows access to academic, communicational, social and other contents. However, its indiscriminate use leads to antisocial behavior, poor academic performance and inadequate interpersonal relationships, as well as it has social costs. Adolescents are at risk because they are in the process of maturity and psychoemotional development. Objective: To describe the relationship between Internet addiction and psychological maturity in adolescents in Peru. Methods: Quantitative study, with a descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional design, carried out in 2019 in schools from Lima, Cusco, Iquitos, Pucallpa, San Martin, Tacna and Tumbes, Lima-Peru. The sample was made up of 1707 students in their third, fourth or fifth high school years. The survey was used as a technique, while the Internet Addiction Test and the Psychological Maturity Questionnaire were used as valid and reliable tools. The data were processed using Excel and the SPSS (version 25). Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis: Pearson's correlation coefficient and Mann-Whitney U. Results: Internet addiction, according to the analyzed dimensions, reached the average level in Costa, Sierra and Selva: tolerance (57.67 percent, 56.08 percent, 38.78 percent), excessive use (58.20 percent, 42.91 percent, 44.27 percent), withdrawal (58.86 percent, 52.03 percent, 40.92 percent) and negative consequences (59.13 percent, 52.71 percent, 49.31 percent). The same phenomenon manifested for psychological maturity: work orientation (53.44 percent, 37.04 percent, 51.59 percent), autonomy (43.58, 34.46 percent, 45.95 percent) and identity (65.50 percent, 53.74 percent, 57.25 percent). Conclusions: There is a significant and inverse relationship between Internet addiction and psychological maturity in adolescents, as well as in all its dimensions(AU)

This study aimed to describe and compare educational practices and child behaviors in children differentiated by behavior problem, education and sex. The participants were 155 mothers of children from the public school system, in preschool and school age, of both sexes, who answered the CBCL, RE-HSE-P instruments. The data were analyzed through test t of Student. The study found that boys and children with behavior problems are more exposed to negative practices and mothers complain more often about their behaviors. In contrast, the girls obtained higher averages for social skills and positive practices. Specific practices and more frequent child behaviors were found for groups differentiated by sex or diagnosis of behavioral problems, both in early childhood education and elementary school. Such analyzes can contribute to the development of intervention strategies for focus groups.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the semantic priming of boy with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder( ADHD) and explore whether the semantic priming deficits was associated with behavioral problems by event-related potential(ERP). Methods Thirty boy with and without ADHD aged from 7 to 13 years were asked to finish the semantic Semantic judgment task. The study took advantage of t-test ( independent-samples) to compare the amplitude and latency of the N400 in both groups,as well as behavioral data.Behav-ioral problems were assessed by the Achenbach child behavior checklist( CBCL) ,and Pearson correlation a-nalysis were used to explore the relationship between behavioral problems and semantic priming. Result-s Under the condition of semantic correlation, the hyperactive factor of CBCL in ADHA group was positively correlated with ERP N400 amplitude ( r=0.44,P<0.05) and negatively correlated with reaction accuracy ( r=-0.48,P<0.05).Under the semantic irrelevant condition, the latency of ERP N400 in ADHA group was pos-itively correlated with hyperactivity factor (r=0.53,P<0.05)and aggression factor of CBCL(r=0.62,P<0.05).The N400 amplitude of the ADHD group was significant higher than that in the control group under se-mantic related conditions((-11.36±4.77)μV vs (-7.66±5.24)μV,P=0.006),and the latency of the N400 in ADHD was more delay((369.6±44.09)ms vs (341.27±24.54)ms,P=0.004),and the reaction times (RT) was much longer((936.18±135.03)ms vs (857.78±103.45)ms,P=0.014).The latency of the N400 in ADHD was more delay than that in the control group under semantic irrelevant conditions ( ( 383. 93 ±29.66)ms vs (362.33±29.66)ms,P=0.012),and accuracies of ADHD group was lower than that of control group(0.43±0.39 vs 0.81±0.23,P<0.01).Conclusion The present result indicates that children with ADHD exhibit a deficit in the semantic priming mechanism, and the deficit is positively correlated with hy-peractivity and impulsiveness.

The aim of this study was to assess the development of children whose primary teachers believed they had behavioral problems (IPC Group) compared to socially skilled children (ICSH Group). They were assessed in two occasions: when they were five years old and when they were 10 years old. Forty-eight teachers and 62 children of both genders participated in the study. The instruments used were the Teacher's Questionnaire for Socially Skilled Responses and the Child Behavior Scale B. In the results, the IPC Group showed a decrease of behavior problems and an increase in socially appropriate behavior. The groups were quite different in the first assessment, but their behaviors became more similar in elementary school. In both assessments, children in ICSH Group were assessed as more socially skilled.

RESUMO

This study was conducted to investigate the food behavior during the childhood, the influence of food behavior on internalizing and externalizing behavior problems, and the pattern of influence of food behavior on behavior problem depending on children's age and gender. A total of 171 children aged 5 and 6 years were selected who attended 3 nurseries and 1 kindergarten in Seoul, and the survey data responded by teachers were analyzed. The results were as follows. First, children with higher levels of food behavior showed less internalizing behavior problems compared to those with lower levels of food behavior. The main effects and interaction of gender and age were not significant. Second, children with higher levels of food behavior showed less externalizing behavior problems compared to those with lower levels of food behavior. For hyperactivity, interaction of age and food behavior was significant, and age and the interaction of age and food behavior affected children's agression. Food behavior of children affects behavior problem and, therefore, children with better food behavior showed less behavior problems in the same circumstances.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: In this study differences in behavioral problems between children at risk for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and normally developing children were identified. Further, relationships between parental stress, depression, and child behavioral problems according to ADHD symptoms were explored. METHODS: Participants were 222 elementary school children and their parents. The ADHD risk group was determined by the Korean-ADHD Rating Scale. Data were collected using the Korean-ADHD Rating Scale, Korean version of Child Behavior CheckList (K-CBCL), Parenting Stress Index, and Beck Depression Inventory. Data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and regression analysis. RESULTS: 1) The ADHD risk group showed higher levels of behavioral problems, parenting stress, and maternal depression than the normal group. 2) There were significant relationships between ADHD scores and parenting stress (r=.66), maternal depression (r=.35), internal behavioral problems (r=.47), and external problems (r=.55), but, ADHD risk scores were negatively correlated with social competence (r=-.40). 3) The regression analysis revealed that ADHD levels affected the child's internal behavioral problems, mediated by maternal depression (beta=.29, p<.001). CONCLUSION: The study results show that higher risk scores for ADHD indicate a significant effect for behavioral problems. Also, parenting stress and depression influence child's behavioral problems. These results suggest that identification of children at risk for ADHD and development of parental education programs would contribute to the prevention of behavioral problems and aggravation of the ADHD symptoms.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to evaluate behavior problems of the Jindo dog, the native dog of Korea, based on an owner's survey and their effect on pet relinquishment. To live a better life with their own pet and prevent relinquishment, it is important to understand the innate behavior characteristics of dog breed and the potential causes of relinquishment. Information concerning various factors and demonstration of the five most common behavior problems was collected via 189 completed questionnaires. No factors significantly affected the demonstration of behavior problem. A total 151 of 189 dogs had behavior problems (79.9%) and 38 dogs did not have behavior problems (20.1%). Among 151 dogs, 139 dogs showed single behavior problem (92.1%). They were 'excessive excitability' (46.8%), 'excessive vocalization' (30.2%), 'inappropriate elimination' (17.3%), 'destructive behavior' (4.3%), and 'aggressive behavior' (1.4%), respectively. In addition, 12 dogs showed two concurrent behavior problems (7.9%) According to the results, the relinquishment of Jindo dogs was not significantly associated with canine behavior problems, which is the single greatest risk factor of relinquishment in general. The possible reasons for potential behavior problems include improper raising, lack of socialization, and insufficient dog training classes, therefore canine behavior would be improved by owner education.
