RESUMO

Objective To compare the value of CEA、CA19-9、CA12-5、CA72-4、CA50 in serum in the diagnosis and therapevtic response of the gastric carcinoma. Methods The 30 gastric carcinoma’s CEA 、CA19-9、CA12-5、CA72-4 、CA50 were detected with electrochemiluminescence immunoassay and radioimmunoassay(15 is the sufferer of transfer of lymph node,15 is not transfer),at the same time choose 30 health person’s serum as comparison. Results The levels of CEA 、CA19-9、CA12-5、CA72-4 increased notably(P

RESUMO

Objective To study relativity of tumor marker (TM) and particularity indexed sign for lung cancer through TM about CEA、NSE、CA50 in serum and hydrothorax. seeks a best method that enhances lung cancer diagnosis rate and the prognosis appraisal. Methods 91 lung cancer patients were detected CEA、NSE、CA50 in serum and hydrothorax separately the treatment before and after the 6th week, the 6th month. Results TM in serum and hydrothorax of the patients with lung cancer was higher than those of the contrast group,it was significant(P

RESUMO

Objective To study the value of expression of carcinoma-associated antigens in early diagnosis and prediction of prognosis of gallbladder carcinoma. Methods The expression of PCNA, CEA, CA50 and E-cad were detected by immunohistochemistry in 50 cases of gallbladder carcinoma, 10 gallbladder adenomas and 10 cholecystitis. Results The positive rates of CEA, CA50 and PCNA LI in gallbladder carcinomas were significantly higher than that of gallbladder adenomas and cholecystitis(P

RESUMO

Purpose:To explore the clinical significance of VEGF in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of common malignant tumors. Methods:The levels of serum VEGF were measured by sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 544 patients with malignant tumors and 87 healthy subjects. At the same time, another 6 tumor markers including CEA and CA50 were measured by immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) in 544 malignant tumor patients. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of VEGF detection were calculated respectively. The relationship between the pre-treatment levels of serum VEGF and their clinical effect, and between the positive expression number of five kinds tumor markers jointly and the therapeutic effect were analyzed respectively. Results:1. The serum VEGF levels in patients with all kinds of malignant tumors were higher than those of the controls, the mean serum VEGF were relatively higher in patients with gastric cancer, liver cancer and lung cancer. 2. According to the cutoff of medicine reference of VEGF (200.6ng/L), its sensitivity and specificity were 54.2% and 95.4% respectively. There was a significant difference between the sensitivity of serum VEGF in patients with tumor burden (74.9%) and that in patients without tumor burden (20.4%)(P

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Rapid and reliable identification of Candida albicans becomes more important because the incidence of yeast infections has increased in recent years. Murex C. albicans 50(CA50) assay was developed for rapid and presumptive identification of C. albicans. We evaluated the CA50 assay to identify C. albicans. METHOD: Seventy four yeast isolates from clinical specimens were tested with CA50 and germ tube test. They were identified to species level by API 20C and chlamydospore agar test. RESULT: Of the 74 isolates, 52 were C. albicans and 22 were non-albicans Candida. The sensitivity and specificity for CA50 were 88.5% and 86.4%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of the germ tube test using human serum were 88.5% and 90.9% respectively, and those using fetal bovine serum(FBS) were 92.3% and 90.9% respectively. CONCLUSION: CA50 was a rapid and easy-to-perform test, and it was comparable to germ tube test in regard of sensitivity and specificity.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the diagnostic value of combined detection of tumor markers on elderly patients with cholangiocarcinoma. Methods:Radioimmunoassay and immunoradiometricassay were adopted to detect CEA,CA19-9 and CA50 in venous serum of 35 elderly patients with cholangiocarcinoma and 31 cases of benign bile duct disease.Results:CA19-9and CA50 in serum had better sensitivity in diagnosing cholangiocarcinoma, and the rates were 80.00% and 91.48% respectively.CEA in serum had the best specificity with the rate as 87.10%.Parallel testing was superior to series testing in combined detection with the sensitivity remaining as 88.64% and the accuracy promoted. Conclusion:The combined detection of tumor markers had cooperative function in diagnosing the elderly patients with chola ngiocarcinoma, with the accuracy promoted, and the rates of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis lowered.

RESUMO

In this communication, the values of serum CA-50 in a series of patients with benign and malignant GI diseases are reported. It was found that CA-50 was positive in 86.7% of 30 pancreatic cancer patients with an average level of 427.53U/ml, which was statistically different from that found in non-malignant control group. In this series serum CA-50 determination helped to confirm the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in 6 cases, in which B-mode ultrasono-graphy failed to make a definite diagnosis, and in another 3 cases CT scanning was unable to disclose the tumor. The combination of CA-50, B-mode ultrasonography, and CT made definite diagnosis in 100% of all 30 pancreatic cancer patients. The author discussed the significance of CA-50 determination in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
