RESUMO

Objective:To estimate the remineralization of enamel of primary teeth with early caries protreated by NaF-chitosan gel. Methods:Early stage caries was created on anterior primary teeth. The samples were divided into 4 groups randomly (n =6),and treated by NaF-chitosan gel, chitosan gel, duraphat and non-treatment(the control) respectively. Then all samples were underwent a 7days pH cycle. Then samples were tested with SEM and EDS.Data were analyzed with SPSS 19.Results:The SEM data showed that chitosan gel protected the enamel surface from being mined by erosion.NaF-chitosan gel group showed more mineral crystal formation on the enamel surface. The NaF-chitosan gel group showed more Ca remineralized on the enamel surface.Conclusion:NaF-chitosan gel can increase the remineraliztion of on the anterior primary teeth with early stage caries.

RESUMO

Objective To detect the effect of chitosan gel on rectal injury which was induced by acetic acid. Methods 36 rats were anesthetized, 4% acetic acid swab was placed into the rectum (3 cm in depth for 1 min) to establish rectum injury model. These rats were divided into model control group, positive control group and drug group with 12 rats each group randomly. Chitosan gel was given to the drug group through anus with the dose of 1 575 mg·kg-1 , and hemorrhoid cream (1 575 mg·kg-1 ) was administered in the positive control group for 6 successive days. At 30 min, 1, 4, 6 day( s) after administration, 3 rats of each group were sacrificed, and were dissected, rectal injury and rectal pathology morphology changing of each group at different time points of administration were compared through visual observation. Results At 30 min, 1, 4, and 6 day(s) after administrating chitosan gel, score of rectum mucosa injury in dury group was lower than those in model control and positive control group. Pathological changes ( including epithelial tissue necrosis, mesenchyme hyperemia, hemorrhage, edema, gland injury, infiltration of inflammatory cells) were significantly slighter in drug group than in model control group and positive control group. Those lesions were restored faster in drug group than in model control group and positive control group, and there was no obvious scar. Conclusion Chitosan gel can obviously alleviate the rectal injury caused by 4% acetic acid and has therapeutic effect.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the effect of Chitosan gel (Ⅲ) on the complications from Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy for treatment of severe mixed hemorrhoids. Methods Seventy-six patients with severe mixed hemorrhoids were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 38 cases in each group. All patients from the two groups were treated with Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy. Then Chitosan gel (Ⅲ) was used in the treatment group. The two groups were compared in terms of curative effect, pain level, complications and hospital stay. Results There was no significant difference in the curative effect (P>0.05). But the scores on pain level, hemtochezia, infection and edema of the treatment group were all significantly lower than those of the control group (allP<0.05) and the hospital stay was significantly shorter than that of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions In the treatment of severe mixed hemorrhoids by Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy, Chitosan gel (Ⅲ) is effective in relieving pains, reducing hemorrhage, edema and preventing infections and therefore shortens the hospital stay. In view of nursing, it is critical to perform mental care as well as close observations on complications.
