RESUMO

Objective To compare the effects between the dual-cycle intensive training mode (DCITM) of "teaching-in vitro-in vivo-summary-in vitro-in vivo-assessment" and the single-cycle basic training mode (BTM) of "teaching-in vitro-tn vivo-assessment" on training graduate students majoring in cardiovascular surgery. Methods Eight graduate students majoring in cardiovascular surgery received the basic training of coronary artery bypass vascular anastomosis under the mode of BTM or DCITM.Then the training effects were evaluated by scoring of experts.Besides,SPSS 17.0 statistical software was used to analyze the evaluation results. Results Compared with students who received BTM,the postgraduates trained by DCITM became more skilled in vascular anastomosis. In vitro, the average number of anastomosis completed by trainee increased significantly [(2.0 ± 1.0) vs.(5.0 ± 1.5),P<0.05] over a specified period of time, the vascular leakage rate was significantly reduced [(92 ± 5)% vs.(30 ± 2)%,P<0.05],and the average time per anastomosis was significantly shorter [in vitro:(20.1 ± 2.5) min vs.(12.6 ± 3.3) min,P<0.05].There was also a statistically significant difference in the average time of each anastomosis in miniature pigs with coronary vascular anastomosis [in vivo:(30 ± 2) min vs.(21 ± 3) min,P<0.05].Conclusion Taken into together,DCITM is a highly efficient mode for promoting the quality of cardiovascular-surgery-teaching and enhancing the effectiveness of training in clinical surgical skills.

RESUMO

Objective To provide a basis for humanity education in the university by a survey of clinical graduates' recognition of humanity education and humanity curriculum. Method An anony-mous questionnaire was adopted and 514 questionnaires were distributed to the 2014 clinical gradu-ates in Peking University Health Science Center about their understanding of humanity education and humanity curriculum. The investigation data was double entried in Epidata 3.1, apply SPSS 19.0 to make the descriptive analysis, chi-square test. Results 69.3% (167/241) students believed humanity education enhanced their professionalism and competency;52.7%(127/241) students believed humanity education enhanced their doctor-patient communication; 36.4% (174/478) students believed their hu-manity knowledge came from their instructors' personal example and teaching;31.1%(149/479) students said the best way of humanity education was through social practice;59.7%(286/479) students consid-ered the combination of classroom lecturing and discussion as the best way to humanity education. As to the major weaknesses in humanities education, 46.9%(113/241) students chose insufficient curriculum, 23.2%(56/241) chose lack of practical value and 23.7%(57/241) chose monotonous teaching methods; Conclusion The best approach to humanities teaching is to combine class lecture with class discus-sion. Besides, hidden curriculum also contributes to humanity education. The enhancement of clinical graduates education relies heavily on humanity education and its emphasis should be laid on the training of humanity teachers, the study of humanity curriculum and learning from other universities.

RESUMO

In view of the clinical graduate students' problems existing in the teaching of evidence-based medicine, such as having little knowledge of the course, lack of interest, not knowing how to retrieve, evaluate evidence and effectively use evidence, Xinjiang Medical University has car-ried on the reform in the curriculum content, teaching process, evaluation content and method of the teaching of EBM for the clinical graduate students. Practice shows that the clinical graduate students have significant improvement in objective examination average score, subjective examination average grades, total score and the students' satisfaction of the classroom teaching, and at the same time their interest in EBM courses and clinical thinking have also improved.
