@#Introduction: Ergonomics is the scientific study of the interactions between humans and other elements of a system to improve human well-being and overall system performance. In larger scope ergonomics examines human behavioral, psychological, and physiological capabilities and limitations. It has given a huge impact on the workers comfort which directly affects the work efficiency and productivity. In Malaysia, the electronics industry is the leading industry in the manufacturing sector and one of the largest employers. This study was conducted to examine the relationship between ergonomics factors and job performance among employees in electronics industry. Material and Method: A total of 155 employees in electronic industry were involved as respondents in this study. A cross-sectional study was conducted using self-administered questionnaires consisting of sections on physical ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, and organizational ergonomics and job performance. The data were analysed using SPSS version 25, and descriptive statistics, person correlation and multiple liner regressions were used to identify the factors associated with job performance. Results: The findings showed that there is a significant relationship between ergonomics factors (physical ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, and organizational ergonomics) and employee performance with p<0.05. While the multiple linear regression analysis found that the most contributing ergonomics factors was physical ergonomics that significantly affects job performance in the electronics industry in Malaysia. Conclusion: Ergonomics factors can be used to promote improved performance and productivity from the employees in the organization such as awareness training and education.

@#Human and cognitive ergonomics become one of essential elements in industrial field nowadays due to employer concern on physical, spiritual and emotional of their workers. The need of industrial today required operator’s cognitive functions with less manual human control but in reality human judgement cannot be eliminate as there are various task that only can be perform by human. The objective of this study is to investigate the level of stress among Muslim electronics assembly line workers in electronic factories in Malaysia. The method used in this study is a survey questionnaire. The study is to compare the stress level between male and female, different ages of worker, years of working experience and task deliver in the plant to perform their duty and contribute to company. The tool administered is DASS 42 questions which distributed to the 360 worker from different level which is staffs and operators. Based on it, emWavePro device are used to test workers biofeedback performance in order to determine target persons for stress management module implementation. Workers performances in terms of productivity are measure after complete module implementation. The result may shows that workers that undergo this programed as a subjects improve their work performance by increasing productivity. Workers may came to work with positive attitude that impact positive environment to the plant. Using DASS, 319 of electronics assembly line workers are evaluated and from that 18 workers are identified with extremely severe of depression, anxiety and stress. From 18 workers, 61.1% are come from age between 19 and 29 years old with working experience less than 5 years. These 18 workers had potential to influence others that can disturb positive environment on the plant and change it to negative environment. Cognitive ergonomics is one of important elements to be focus as it impact workers performance every day. Not only physical, spiritual and emotional of the workers also contribute to the plant achievement in general.

Este estudo pretende ilustrar em que medida os elementos da organização trabalho contribuem ou dificultam a execução das tarefas de monitoramento de fraudes dentro de um Núcleo de Segurança Lógica de uma instituição financeira. Como construto teórico o estudo teve como base a ergonomia cognitiva e a psicologia cognitiva. Como método utilizou-se a Análise Ergonômica da Atividade ­ AET. Participaram do estudo 24 sujeitos, todos comissionados, sendo predominantemente do sexo masculino, faixa etária entre 26 e 50 anos. Os sujeitos do estudo apresentaram reclamações quanto a desconfortos físicos relacionados à rotina de trabalho.


This study intends to illustrate the extent to which the elements of the work organization contribute or hinder the execution of fraud monitoring tasks within a Logical Security Centre of a financial institution. As a theoretical construct the study was based on cognitive ergonomics and cognitive psychology. The Activity Ergonomic Analysis ­ AET was used as a method. Twenty-four subjects, all commissioned, being predominantly male, between 26 and 50 years of age were analyzed. The subjects of the study presented complaints regarding physical discomforts related to the work routine.


Este trabajo pretende demostrar en qué medida los elementos de la organización del trabajo contribuyen o dificultan la ejecución de las tareas de supervisión de estafas dentro de un Núcleo de Seguridad Lógica de una institución financiera. Como constructo teórico el trabajo tuvo como base la ergonomía cognitiva y la psicología cognitiva. Como método se analizó la Análisis Ergonómica de la Actividad ­ AET. Participaron de la investigación 24 sujetos, todos comisionados, predominantemente del sexo masculino, con edades entre 26 y 50 años. Los sujetos de la investigación reportaron reclamaciones sobre malestar físico relacionado con la rutina de trabajo.


Cette étude se propose d'illustrer la mesure dans laquelle les éléments de l'organisation du travail contribuent ou entravent la mise en œuvre des tâches de surveillance de fraude dans un noyau de Sécurité Logique d'une institution financière. Comme base théorique l'étude apporte l'ergonomie cognitive et la psychologie cognitive. Comme méthode, nous avons utilisé l'Analyse Ergonomique de l'Activité - AET. Ving-quatre (24 ) sujets ont participé de l'étude, tous commissionnés, étant surtout des hommes, âgés entre 26 et 50 ans. Les sujets de l'étude présentent des plaintes à propos de malaises physiques liées à la routine de travail.

Con el propósito de capacitar en un método de análisis del trabajo, a un grupo de estudiantes de postgrado en Salud Ocupacional de la Universidad de Carabobo, Núcleo Aragua, Venezuela, el Centro de Estudios en Salud de los Trabajadores (CEST-UC) desarrolló un programa teórico práctico donde se implementaron un conjunto de técnicas para el análisis del trabajo con un enfoque que pretende ser sistémico y holístico. El programa de capacitación impartido se desarrolló básicamente sobre tres aspectos claves: desarrollo teórico, aspectos metodológicos y desarrollo instrumental. Fueron entrenados cinco profesionales a los cuales se les dio la tarea de facilitadores, quienes monitorizaron los ensayos de intervención. Al curso asistieron 20 profesionales que se dividieron en cinco (5) equipos para la evaluación de diferentes puestos de trabajo en varias dependencias de la Universidad. La descripción de las condiciones de trabajo, las premisas individuales y los efectos negativos evaluados en los trabajadores(as) que se desempeñaban en los puestos estudiados fueron consignados por los equipos participantes a las dependencias, lo que permitió establecer el diagnóstico general de las condiciones de los puestos evaluados así como la frecuencia y magnitud de los efectos negativos a la salud, entre los cuales el mayormente reportado fue la fatiga. El aprovechamiento de los pasantes del curso fue significativo logrando el diagnóstico de los puestos en las dependencias designadas. El Centro de Estudios en Salud de los Trabajadores de la Universidad de Carabobo cuenta con cinco expertos que pueden replicar el curso realizado y multiplicar el conocimiento adquirido.


In the context of a training program in work analysis for occupational health students at the University of Carabobo, state of Aragua, Venezuela, the Center for Studies on Workers’ Health (CEST-UC), developed a theoretical and practical framework using a systemic and holistic approach. The program had three key components: theoretical foundations, methodological aspects, and instrumentation development. Five health professionals were trained as facilitators to oversee the various interventions. Then 20 professionals attending the training program were divided into five teams and evaluated different workplaces in several university departments. The description of working conditions, individual characteristics and both frequency and magnitude of adverse health effects on workers were identified by the teams by departments. Fatigue was the most commonly reported symptom. Engaging training program participants proved very useful in establishing working condition profiles by departments. The Center for Studies on Workers' Health of the University of Carabobo has five experts who can replicate the course and multiply the acquired knowledge.

Na Educação a Distância (EaD), o processo pedagógico pode ser mediado por aplicativos informatizados, muitas vezes utilizando a Internet como via de acesso. Essa mediação contribui para o aprimoramento da relação ensino-aprendizagem e estrutura o papel dos diferentes atores dessa relação. O objetivo do presente estudo é investigar o impacto do uso de ferramentas informatizadas na atividade dos tutores de cursos via Internet. A amostra foi composta por 4 tutores, com características distintas. Utilizou-se a Análise Ergonômica do Trabalho e foram realizadas entrevistas, análises de interação e observações, o que permitiu a elaboração de uma crônica da atividade dos tutores. Os resultados apontam a incerteza e variabilidade das demandas dos alunos e o impacto das ferramentas informatizadas na atividade. Discute-se a necessidade de compreender quem é o tutor na EaD, fornecendo parâmetros para a concepção de ferramentas que facilitem o trabalho.


In Distance Learning, the educational process can be mediated by digital systems, often using Internet as access medium. This mediation contributes to the enhancement of the teaching-learning relationship and structures the role of the different actors in it. This study's goal is investigating the impact of the use of digital tools in tutors' activities in online courses. The sample was defined by 4 tutors with distinct characteristics. Work Ergonomic Analysis was used, and interviews, interaction analysis and observations were made, which allowed the creation of a chronicle about the tutors' activities. The results points to the uncertainty and variability of the student's demands and the impact of the digital tools on the activity. The necessity of comprehending the tutor's role in D.L., giving parameters to the concept of tools that facilitate the work, is discussed.
