RESUMO

Development of the primary and permanent dentition is a complex process wherein there is series of interactions between the ectoderm and ectomesenchyme. A cascade of signaling pathways occur in a spatio-temporal manner resulting in the development and eruption of the human dentition. Any developmental aberrations in shape, size, number, and position can lead to deviations from normal development of teeth. In this book, dental anomalies including gemination, fusion, concrescence, dilaceration, dens invaginatus, DE, taurodontism, enamel pearls, fluorosis, peg?shaped laterals, dentinal dysplasia, regional odontodysplasia and hypodontia etc. are discussed. Diagnosing dental abnormality needs a thorough evaluation of the patient and careful clinical and radiographical examination is required. Furthermore, more complex cases need multidisciplinary planning and treatment.

RESUMO

Conventional dental resins for crown and bridge fulfill ISO 10477 and ISO 10993 before clinical application. Although 3D printing or rapid prototyping (RP) for the fabrication of temporary crown and bridge have been proposed, a little studies were reported for 3D printing resin for temporary crown and bridge. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical properties (such as water sorption and solubility, color stability and flexural strength) of the various 3D printing temporary crown and bridge resin following the ISO 10477:2018 and estimate the effect of chemical composition of resin on the physical properties. Four resins approved by KFDA and 4 experimental resins developed by different manufacturer were tested in this study. Samples were prepared with DLP typed 3D Printer (G-Printer) and post-cured using UV-light Cure Unit (Cure M). Proper 3D printing and post-curing conditions were selected for different 3D printing resins. Each test was performed according to the ISO 10477 and results were statistically analyzed using Tukey-multiple comparison test (p=0.05). Only group-B did not satisfied the ISO requirement ( 60 MPa). Resin components may affect the flexural strength, then user should check the components of 3D printing resin. Deficient degree of polymerization may lead to large water sorption, water solubility and color changes. Further study should be done comparison between specimens printed with specific 3D printer recommended by manufacturer and specimens used in this study.

RESUMO

Objective:To study the effects of different ratios between adhesive and solidification agent on the investment of titanium and to investigate the physical properties of the adhesive on different time intervals. Methods:Mixed adhesive with solidification agent according to different ratio:14∶1,14.5∶1,15∶1.Twelve wax sheet patterns(10 mm?10 mm?0.8 mm)were invested, and then the castings were fabricated.Manipulation performance, appearance of the casting mold, and color of the castings as well as their integrity and edge clarity were observed. The more ideal proportion was selected and determined.Dynamic viscosity, density and pH value of the adhesive were measured on different days(1,3,5 and 7 days). Results:With a adhesive or solidification agent ratio of 14∶1,the solidified time was comparatively short and unable to operate, while with a ratio of 15∶1,the solidified time was too long to solidify and led to the distorted castings. In group with a ratio of 14.5∶1,the primary gel time, intact mold and cast gate were appropriate. The surface of the castings showed bright, metal color after sand blasting.Dynamic viscosity, consistency and pH value of different days for the adhesive had no significant difference. Conclusion:Favorable casting can be fabricated for adhesive mixing with solidification agent when the ratio was 14.5∶1.The adhesive has steady capability in 7 days in practical condition.
