Environmental factors, evolutionary changes in dietary habits, among others can trigger an etiological role in the appearance of dental anomalies. Taking the human species to a decrease in masticatory function resulting in a reduction in the size of the jaws, resulting in a lack of space for the correct position of the teeth in the dental arch. Causing an increase in the incidence of second and third molars retained. Its eruption restriction consequent multisymptomatic pathology causing a public health problem in this way. Several authors have used the radiographic images to perform analyzes of the third molar. Based on a lateral and a panoramic radiographic projection, to establish a diagnosis and determine the risk and the need to extract it. Imaging diagnostic presents a new tool that is Cone Beam tomography that allows us to adapt the classical knowledge of the third molar analysis to an image in three dimensions, providing the depth factor (AU)

RESUMO

Objective:To study the function of tumor necrosis factor r eceptor-associated factor 6(TRAF6) in the development of rat dental germ. Methods:After specimen preparation of every stage of rat developing d ental germs, immunohistochemical staining of TRAF6 was carried out. Resu lts:Positive expression of TRAF 6 was observed in thickening stage of de ntal lamina, peripheral dental lamina of bud stage, outer and inner enamal epith elium, stellate reticulum, dental papilla cells and dentinoblasts in early bell s tage, ameloblasts, dentinoblast, intermediate layer, stellate reticulum and denta l papilla cells in late bell stage, and dentinoblasts and ameloblasts in the ger m 7 days after birth. Conclusions:TRAF6 may be a signal transduc tion factor which modulates the proliferation and differentiation of developing epithelial and mesenchymal cells in the development of the dental germ.

RESUMO

Objective: To study the role of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) during human tooth germ development.Method: bFGF expression was exmined with immmunohistochemical technique in bud stage, cap stage and bell stage of human tooth germ from aborted embryo of 7,8,10 and 14 weeks. Results: At the bud stage of human tooth development, bFGF was expressed in most dental epithelium cells, and few condensed mesenchymal cells. At the cap stage ,bFGF was weakly expressed. At the bell stage,bFGF was strongly expressed in the inner enamel epithelium layer and dental papillary cells near inner enamel epithelia, weakly in the stellate reticulum. Conclusion:During human tooth development,bFGF plays an important role in the proliferation and differentiation of dental epithelium.

RESUMO

Objective:To study the application of Gomori special staining in the late bell stage of dental germ, tooth and periodontium.Methods:Paraffin-embedded sections of human dental germ in late bell stage, tooth and periodontium of mature rats were stained by improved Gomori and Mallory special staining method. Results were observed by light microscope. Results:Improved Gomori special staining method can easily discriminate enamel matrix and dentin matrix in late bell stage of dental germ, sclerous tissues and soft tissues in mature tooth and periodontium, bone and cartilage in two different colouration.Cells and tissues can be observed clearly. Conclusion:Dental germ, tooth and periodontium can be stained by improved Gomori special staining with satisfactory results.
