RESUMO

To understand the current status of emergency nurses’ patient safety attitude cognition and its influencing factors, 746 emergency nurses from 34 hospitals were investigated with the revised Chinese version of the safety attitude questionnaire. The results showed that the total mean score of patient safety attitude of emergency nurses was (3.98±0.40) points, which was above the middle level. Among them, the mean scores of team cooperation, safety atmosphere, management perception, work satisfaction, working condition, and stress perception were (4.14±0.85) points, (3.85±0.81) points, (3.90±0.81) points, (3.91±0.85) points, (3.86±1.06) points, and (3.89±0.59) points, respectively. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that length of service and grade of hospital were the influencing factors of emergency nurses’ patient safety attitude (P<0.05). It is suggested that the managers should incorporate patient safety culture into the training and management of emergency nurses, especially strengthen the safety culture education for junior nurses; the secondary hospital should also focus on enhancing team cooperation training for emergency nurses and improving the working environment of them, so as to reduce unsafe behaviors in nursing work and ensure patients’ safety.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the application effect of the problem-originated clinical medical curriculum (PCMC) and problem-based learning (PBL) on teaching interns in the department of emergency. Methods:A total of 71 interns received in the department of emergency from January 2018 to January 2020 were selected and divided into an observation group ( n=38) and a control group ( n=33) according to different teaching methods. Among them, the control group received traditional teaching, the observation group took PCMC combined with PBL teaching method. The comprehensive ability scores and teaching quality of the two groups of interns were observed, and their satisfaction with teaching and the patient's evaluation on them were recorded. SPSS was used for t test. Results:There was no significant difference in the theoretical test scores, case analysis ability, and operational skills scores between the two groups before the teaching. After teaching, they were all improved, and the improvement effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group [(92.30±4.37) vs. (83.75±3.98); (90.24±5.31) vs. (85.35±4.57); (91.33±5.28) vs. (86.49±4.42), all P<0.05]; the scores of basic job mastery, work attitude, adaptability and doctor-patient communication of the two groups were all improved, and the observation group was higher than the control group ( P<0.05); the satisfaction of the interns and the evaluation results of patients in the observation group were better than those of the control group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:PCMC combined with PBL used in the teaching of interns in the department of emergency can not only stimulate the interns' interest in learning, increase their theoretical knowledge, improve their learning ability and practical ability, but also improve the quality of teaching and improve their clinical resilience.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the application effects of work record analysis combined with emergency plan drill on the practice teaching of nursing students in department of emergency. Methods:A total of 80 nursing students who had clinical practice in the Department of Emergency of Beijing Shijitan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University between February 2018 and August 2020 were selected as research subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group according to the admission order to the department. The control group was given routine teaching, and the observation group adopted work record analysis combined with emergency plan drill teaching. The theoretical knowledge level, the success rate of emergency treatment and teaching effect evaluation were compared between the two groups of nursing students before and after learning. SPSS 19.0 was used for t test and chi-square test. Results:After learning, the scores of theoretical knowledge (pre-hospital emergency, common emergency diseases, emergency treatment plan, and complications) of the two groups were higher than those before learning, and the scores in observation group were higher than those in control group ( P<0.05). The success rates of emergency treatments (electrocardiogram, electrocardiogram monitoring, blood sample collection, thrombolytic therapy coordination, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and satisfaction rates of teaching effects (fully understanding emergency work, improving the ability of independent learning, enhancing the ability of flexible use of knowledge, and active classroom atmosphere) were higher in observation group than control group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:Work record analysis combined with emergency plan drill can effectively ensure the teaching effects of nursing students in department of emergency, and has the advantages of improving the theoretical knowledge and practical operation ability.

RESUMO

Since December 2019, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become one of the most significant infectious diseases in the world. The epidemic in China has been basically controlled through a series of prevention and control measures. But the number of confirmed cases and deaths in other countries and regions is still rapidly rising. In response to this major epidemic, the hospital's emergency management system is facing a great challenge, especially the department of emergency, which takes the responsibilities of the screening and diagnosis of fe-ver patients as well as the emergency treatment of ordinary patients. Through two months of practice and exploration, our hospital has summa-rized some experiences in improving the emergency management system, establishing a peace and war integration mechanism, reorganizing medical resources, guaranteeing the deployment of supplies and optimizing information system, and has achieved the "zero infection" of medical staff, "zero misdiagnosis" and "zero cross-infection" of patients with COVID-19.

RESUMO

With the progresses of aggravation of social population aging degree and elevation of health awareness, the emergency medical resources are difficult to meet the increasing demand for emergency medical services of patients, leading to the increase of congestion in the Department of Emergency that has threatened the safety of the entire medical and health system. Among the patients, because the elderly patient diseases are characterized by coexistence of multiple diseases, the complexity of diagnosis and treatment, etc, they occupy a large number of emergency medical resources, resulting in the main important factor affecting the overcrowding in emergency department. Therefore, we have comprehensively analyzed the domestic and foreign researches related to the overcrowding in emergency departments, summarized the effect of elderly patients on the overcrowding and reviewed the corresponding mitigation measures, expecting to provide a reference for the study of emergency department overcrowding in China.
