RESUMO

PURPOSE: We performed this study to evaluate the reliability of dynamic stereoacuity test with new personal computer program. METHODS: Twenty subjects (5 men, 15 women) were examined for dynamic stereo-threshold measured by new computer program at 94cm test distance. On fifty tested subjects, variant dynamic stereoacuity was created with the random spherical lenses from +0.5 to +3.0 diopter before the right eye. To evaluate the intraobserver reliability of the test, stereoacuity was measured five times on five separate days by the same examiner. To evaluate the interobserver reproducibility, stereoacuity was measured two times by two different examiners. RESULT: The Cronbach's alpha (internal consistency) of intraobserver was 0.99 (P<0.001). The Spearman correlation coefficient of interobserver was 0.99 (P<0.001). CONCLUSION: This method of dynamic stereoacuity measurement has a high reliability.

RESUMO

Demonstration of an overall superiority in the accuracy of discriminating crossed-disparity targets should be noted as opposed to uncrossed-disparity targets. We investigated the difference in stereoacuity between crossed and uncrossed disparities using dynamic stereoacuity and superiority of crossed disparity stereopsis. We examined dynamic stereoacuity in 73 normal subjects at 120 cm test distance and 96 subjects at 150 cm test distance. At 120cm test distance, the mean dynamic stereoacuity of crossed disparity was 313.4 +/-261.4 (mean +/-standard deviation)sec of arc, and, the mean dynamic stereoacuity of uncrossed disparity was 343.1 +/-261.4 sec of arc.At 150 cm test distance, the mean dynamic stereoacuity of crossed disparity was 263.2+/-196.8 sec of arc, and, the mean dynamic stereoacuity of uncrossed disparity was 310.6 +/-310.6 sec of arc.Statistical significance shows a higher stereoacuity of crossed disparity than uncrossed disparity in both test distance (Wilcoxon matched pairs signed ranks test, p<0.05).

RESUMO

we investigated the effect of spherical lens-induced anisometropia on dynamic stereoacuity. Twenty subjects with normal binocular function without past ophthalmic disease history were examined for the effect of anisometropia on the viasual acuity, static and dynamic stereoacuity created with spherical lenses in 0.5D stepwise manner before dominant eye from -2.0D to +2.0D. Dynamic stereoacuity was measured by new computer program. And we investigated the effect of anisometropia on dynamic stereoacuity as the power of the lenses was increased and the effect of plus lens vs minus lens on the dynamic stereoacuity. As a result, dynamic stereoacuity decreased statistically significantly as the power of the spherical lenses increased. And the plus 1.5D and 2.0D lens showed more deteriorating effects on dynamic stereoacuity than the corresponding minus power lenses, respectively. No statistically significant correlation was found between static and dynamic stereoacuity at each spherical lens diopter.
