The objective of the study was to determine the effect of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on the healing of soft tissues of socket after atraumatic exodontia. The present is a single-blind, cross-sectional randomized controlled trial. It was carried out in the Dental Service of the Santa Isabel District Hospital of Porvenir - Peru, during the years 2016 and 2017. The sample consisted of 51 patients whose alveoli post exodontia were randomly divided into 2 groups, each patient signed an informed consent. Group A (control) was left with a blood clot for normal healing and group B (experi- mental) was given PRF (as a plug and membrane), obtained according to the Choukroun protocol. The effect of PRF on the healing of the soft tissues of the alveoli after atraumatic exodontia was used the Landry index. The measurements were made at 7 and 14 days after surgery. For the comparison of each one of the variables of the study, the Mc Nemar test and the Fisher exact test were used. The statistical significance was 5 %. When comparing both groups in the healing of the soft tissues of alveoli after atraumatic exodontia, a statistically significant difference was found at 7 and 14 days after surgery (p 0.05). The PRF has a positive effect on the healing of the soft tissues of the alveoli after atraumatic exodontia independently of sex and age.

RESUMO

Aim: The present study was undertaken to find out the possibilities of induced breeding of Catla catla, at low water temperature using fibre reinforced (FRP) tanks in a carp hatchery. Methodology: Brood fish of C. catla was maintained in 0.1 ha pond with proper feeding and pond management. Six induced breeding programmes: 3 in April (pre-monsoon) and 3 in June (monsoon) of 2017 were conducted with C. catla using synthetic hormone, Ovasis intra-peritoneally. The relationship between temperature variation and latency period, effective spawning period, fecundity, hatching start time, hatching duration and spawn production with its recovery was observed. Results: The latency period (time gap between injection and first egg release) was very high and ranged between 653.3 and 721.6 min for breeding in the pre-monsoon and ranged between 446.6 and 480 min for monsoon period. In pre-monsoon, the effective spawning period between 86.6 and 116.6 min and in monsoon between 53.3 and 73.3 min; both varied significantly (p˂0.05). In pre-monsoon period, the average water temperature during larval incubation in hatching pool ranged between 21.58 and 22.58ºC, whereas during monsoon period it ranged between 30.1 and 30.4ºC. The spawn production was 0.13 to 0.22; and 0.47 to 0.65 (lakh kg-1 b. wt. of female) in pre-monsoon and monsoon period, respectively, and showed a significant difference (p˂0.05). Interpretation: This report on breeding of C. catla in the temperature range of 18.6-24.7oC indicates the possibility of spawn production of Indian Major Carp in the north east hilly region states of India

RESUMO

@#ObjectiveTo observe the effect of family rehabilitation plan (FRP) on motor function of stroke patients with hemiplegia.Methods64 patients were randomly divided into the FRP group (32 cases) and control group (32 cases). The patients in the FRP group critically followed the schedule and activities scheduled on FRP and were assessed and guided in out-patient department every two weeks. The patients in the control group made schedule and carried on activities by themselves. Motor function was assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and modified Barthel index (MBI) respectively.ResultsMotor scores of the patients in two groups significantly increased after treatment ( P<0.001), and that of the FRP group was significantly better than that of the control group ( P<0.001).ConclusionThe FRP can significantly improve motor function of stroke patients with hemiplegia.

RESUMO

AIM: To study the mechanism of effects about total flavones of choeropondias axillaris (TFC) to heart. METHODS: The effects of TFC on contractility were investigated through acting on the guinea pig right ventricle papillary muscles. RESULTS: TFC decreased both the contractility and contraction rate of papillary muscles. The quantity-effect curve of CaCl2 was shifted to right after giving TFC. TFC 30.4 μmol·L-1 prolonged remarkably the functional refractory period (FRP) of guinea pig right ventricle papillary muscles, but exerted no effect on excitability. CONCLUSION: TFC can inhibit the Ca2+ influx into cell in a concentration-dependent manner.

RESUMO

The mechanism of antiarrhythmic effects of palmatine( Pal), an benzoquinolizine compound were studied in experimental animals. In the isolated guinea pig papillary muscles, Pal 50 ?mol/L markedly prolonged the functional refractory period(FRP)and decreased the automaticity induced by adrenaline, but exerted no effect on excitabj- iity and contractility of the muscles.Pal(10 ?mol/L ) prolonged both APD20 and APD90 of the action potential of guinoa pig papillary muscles. The Vmax was decreased at 100 ?mol/L Pal, but the action potential amplitude( APA ) and resting potential ( RP ) were unaltered. The antiarrhythmic action of Pal may be due to its ability to decrease automaticity and to proloagate FRP and APD of the myocardium.
