RESUMO

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of prostate specific antigen density (PSAD),Gleason score and serum ferritin (SF) in bone metastases from prostate cancer. Methods 45 patients diagnosed with bone metastases from prostate cancer in our hospital from January 2015 to October 2017 were selected as metastasis group.90 cases without bone metastases in prostate cancer were selected as control group. The PSAD,SF and Gleason scores of the two groups were measured and compared.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the three indexes to predict the clinical value of bone metastases in patients with prostate cancer. Results The serum PSA,SF,prostate volume,PSAD levels in metastasis group were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05);the average Gleason scores metastasis group were significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.05);The sensitivity and specificity of SF combined with PSAD and Gleason score diagnosis in patients with prostate cancer bone metastasis was 95.64% and 91.30% respectively, the area under the curve (AUC) value is 0.930.Conclusions Detection and analysis of PSAD,SF,and Gleason scores in patients with prostate cancer will help to evaluate whether or not the patients have bone metastases.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of ferritin, procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP) on infectious diseases. Methods A total of 190 patients with infectious diseases in our hospital from 2012 to 2017 were enrolled and analysed retrospectively.Among them, bacterial infection was found in 130 cases (bacterial infection group),and viral infection in 60 cases (viral infection group).Serum levels of erritin,CRP,PCT in 190 patients were deteceted for further statistical analysis. Results Among the 190 cases of infectious fever, serum levels of erritin,CRP,PCT in bacterial infection group were higher than that in the viral infection group, with significant difference. The receiver operating curve (ROC) curve analysis showed that area under curve (AUC) of CRP,PCT,ferritin were 0.797,0.803,0.883.Conclusions The present study identified ferritin,PCT and CRP that should be considered in the differential diagnosis of infectious diseases, providing useful information for future diagnosis.

RESUMO

Objective To observe the changes of serum ferritin and 25-(OH) vitamin D3 in patients with diabetic cranial neuropathy. Methods There were 50 patients without diabetic Cranial neuropathy,46 patients with diabetic cranial neuropathy, and 40 cases of normal control group. The changes of serum ferritin and 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 were observed in each group. The correlation between two indexes and the correlation with diabetic cranial neuropathy were analzyzed. Results The serum ferritin levels in diabetic group and diabetic neuropathy group were significantly higher than those in normal control group (P < 0.01),and its level in patients with diabetic cranial neuropathy [(687.54 ± 65.38)ng/ml] was significantly higher than that of patients without diabetic cranial neuropathy [(497.28 ± 46.39) ng/ml,P <0.01].The serum 25-(OH) vitamin D3 levels in the diabetic group and diabetic neuropathy group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.01),and its level in patients with diabetic cranial neuropathy [(26.45 ± 8.93)nmol/l] was significantly less than that of patients without diabetic cranial neuropathy [(37.19-± 9.74)nmol/L,P < 0.01].Serum ferritin levels were positively correlated with 25-(OH) vitamin D3 (r =-0.59,P < 0.01).Multivariate unconditional Logistic regression analysis showed that diabetic neuropathy was negatively correlated with 25-(OH) vitamin D3 (P < 0.05).Conclusions The increases of serum ferritin and 25-(OH) vitamin D3 are closely related to the occurrence and development of diabetic cranial neuropathy, which provides the theoretical basis for clinical intervention therapy.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the association between serum ferritin(SF) level at early and mid trimester of pregnancy and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and insulin resistance (IR).Methods A total of 192 cases of women who were accepted antenatal examination from the first trimester of pregnancy at Yueqing People Hospital from July,2012 to October,2013 was prospectively analyzed and followed up.All cases were divided into two groups:96 cases of GDM pregnant women who were diagnosed as GDM at mid trimester of pregnancy as GDM group, and 96 cases of pregnant women with normal glucose tolerance at the same time as the control, normal glucose tolerance (NGT group). The differences in clinical data were compared between two groups. The relationship between SF level and fasting plasma glucose (FPG),fasting insulin (FINS),homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance (HOMA-IR),and C-peptide was investigated with Spearman rank correlation analysis. The predictive values of SF and relative variables to GDM were calculated by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) or Logistic regression analysis. Results (1) There was statistically significant difference in body weight and body mass index (BMI) at prepregnancy and mid trimester of pregnancy,Hb,FPG,FINS,SF,and C-peptide at the first trimester of pregnancy,SF level and FPG and HOMA-IR and C-peptide at mid trimester of pregnancy between two groups (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05).(2) As showed by Spearman rank correlation analysis, there was statistical correlation between SF at mid trimester of pregnancy, and FPG,FINS,HOMA-IR and C-peptide (P <0.01 or P < 0.05);while no statistical correlation was found between SF at the first trimester of pregnancy and the same factors above (P > 0.05).(3) The area under the ROC curve of SF at mid trimester of pregnancy for GDM was 0.653.The sensitivity and specificity were 68.8% and 59.4% in predicting GDM at the cut-off value of 16.61 ng/ml.As showed by Logistic regression analysis, high level of SF at mid trimester of pregnancy was a independent risk factor for GDM.Odds ratio (OR) was 1.032 (95% CI:1.008 ~ 1.058,P < 0.01).Conclusions The relationship between SF at different trimester of pregnancy and GDM is variant. There is relationship between high level SF of mid trimester of pregnancy in GDM pregnant women and IR.The level of SF might predict the occurrence of GDM.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the changes of serum ferritin and homocysteine of diabetic patients,to explore its correlation with diabetic gastroparesis. Methods Pure 50 patients with diabetes,50 patients with diabetic gastroparesis, and 50 cases of normal control group were chosen. The serum ferritin levels were measured with chemiluminescence method, the serum homocysteine levels were measured with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The changes of serum ferritin and serum homocysteine in each groups were observed. Its relationship with diabetic gastroparesis was studied. Results For all diabetic patients, the serum ferritin and homocysteine levels were significantly higher than those in normal control group (P < 0.01).Patients with diabetic gastroparesis was higher than those of pure diabetes (P < 0.01).Serum ferritin levels was positively correlated with glycosylated hemoglobin and homocysteine (r =0.62,0.78,P < 0.01).Multi-factor analysis showed that serum ferritin, and homocysteine level was positively associated with diabetic gastroparesis (P < 0.05).Conclusions The increases of serum ferritin and homocysteine levels were closely related to the occurrence and development of diabetic gastroparesis. They can be used as one of parameters of diabetic gastroparesis, and provide theoretical basis for clinical intervention therapy.
