RESUMO

Craniocerebral war injury, mainly caused by weaponry equipment and wartime conditions during warfare, are characterized by high difficulty in treatment and evacuation as well as high mortality rate. The field surgical treatment of craniocerebral war injury is not only related to injury characteristics, but also to factors such as war scale, combat style, combat area and weapon power. In recent years, there have been few comprehensive reports on the characteristics and field surgical treatment of craniocerebral war injury in China. Therefore, the authors reviewed the research progress in the characteristics and field surgical treatment of craniocerebral war injuries in foreign armies since 2001, with the aim to provide a reference for relevant basic researches and war injury treatment in China.

RESUMO

It is still at the initial stage for basic-level military doctors to participate in the standardized residency training. While, their professional backgrounds and training objectives are significantly different from those civilian residents, it is necessary to explore the standardized training methods in line with the military career demands for those basic-level military doctors. Based on the actual needs of grass-roots troops and military medicine, this study makes significant progress in the integration of standardized residency training and field surgery training methods, making the basic-level military doctors achieve the goal of field surgery training in the course of clinical practice of residents. Not only the surgical capability of basic-level military doctors, but also the medical support capability in grass-roots troops has been improved. This article summarizes the application methods and experience of field surgery teaching in the standardized residency training of military medical residents at the grass-roots level.

RESUMO

Objective@#To analyze the quality of final exam papers of Surgery and Field Surgery for five-year medical students from comprehensive class of Grade 2014, so as to check the mastery of different students, perfect the construction of item banking, verify the quality of teaching and learning, and thus provide references to further teaching reform.@*Methods@#SPSS 21.0 was used for statistical analysis of 133 Surgery and Field Surgery papers of students from comprehensive class of Grade 2014.@*Results@#The highest score was 93.5, the lowest score was 52.0, and the average score was (70.60±9.00). Among those 133 students, six students were failed, occupying 4.51%. The overall difficulty coefficient of examination paper (P) was 0.71, and P value of multiple choice questions and blank-filling questions was 0.4-0.7. Difference degrees (D) of question types were more than 0.600 and the overall reliability was 0.764. Scores of examination paper were generally in normal distribution. The average scores of students form anesthesiology major were higher than those of students from navigation medicine major, but the average scores of students from above two majors were higher than those of students from psychology major, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#Question types of this paper are comprehensive and reasonable. The overall difficulty is not high, the difference degree is good, the reliability is good and the score distribution is reasonable. However, the question should be further improved, focusing on the reasonable distribution of difficulty of question. In addition, we should strengthen the teaching of the course in students from psychology major.

RESUMO

Over the past century, there were more than 40 earthquakes greater than 7 magnitude occurred worldwide, 10 of which in China, which killed 600 thousand people accounting for 53% of global earthquake deaths. On May 12, 2008, an 8.0-magnitude earthquake occurred in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, causing 69000 deaths, 18000 missings, and 370000 injuries. Among 10 thousand severe injuries, most were traumatic injuries, 74% of which were fracture. On April 14, 2010, a 7.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in Yushu, Qinghai Province. There were 2698 deaths, 270 missings and 11000 injuries. Among 3100 severe injuries, fracture accounted for 58.4%. After each earthquake, the Chinese Army Medical Services took actions and made quick response according to the law. They sent out elites with efficient command and scientific organization, fully participating in the medical rescue operations. After Wenchuan earthquake, 397 mobile medical service units and 7061 health workers were sent out. A total of 69000 people were treated, and 22000 cases of surgeries were performed. After Yushu earthquake, a total of 25 mobile medical service units and 2025 health workers were sent. They performed 1635 cases of surgeries with a miracle of "zero death" in mass earthquake casualties and altitude diseases in cold highlands. After each earthquake, injuries cured within 1 week accounted for 60% of the total, and patients evacuated accounted for 80% of the total, which owed to the effective first aid in site of Chinese Army Medical Service. They effectively played the role as the main force, making significant contributions for the final victory of earthquake relief. From the practice of medical rescue revelation after the two earthquakes, what Chinese Army Medical Services learned are: firstly, the theory of medical relief should be innovated; secondly, military and civilian organizations should be coordinated; thirdly, professional rescue force should be strengthened; fourthly, supporting means should be constructed; fifthly, international communication and cooperation should be deepened.
