RESUMO

Objective:To study the role of NF- ?B in the mechanism of liver injury following intestinal perforations due to abdominal firearm wound. Methods:A total of 42 Chang-Bai piglets were assigned randomly into 7 groups: control group and wounded 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours group. The model of intestinal perforations due to abdominal firearm wound was established in wounded groups. Hepatic NF-?B and TNF-? content was measured with immunohistochemical staining and image analysis in all groups. Hepatocyte apoptosis indexes and serum ALT levels were also determined at the same time. The alterations of hepatic tissue were observed under light microscope. Results: Levels of hepatic NF-?B activity in wounded groups were significantly elevated compared with control group, and two peaks appeared in 1 h group and 8 h group, respectively (P

RESUMO

Objective:To study the role of TNF-?in the mechanism of hepatocyte apoptosis induced by intestinal perforations due to abdominal firearm wound. Methods:A total of 42 Chang-Bai piglets were divided randomly into 7 groups: control group and wounded 1, 2 , 4, 8, 12, 24 hour groups. The model of intestinal perforations due to abdominal firearm wound were established in wounded groups. Levels of plasma endotoxin were measured using ehromogenic limulus amehoeyte lysate test.Hepatic TNF-? content was measured with immunohistochemical staining and image analysis in all groups. Hepatocyte apoptosis indexes and serum TNF-? levels were determined at the same time. Results: Levels of plasma endotoxin, serum TNF-?, hepatic TNF-? content and hepatocyte apoptosis indexes in wounded groups were all significantly elevated compared with control group(P

RESUMO

Objective: To study the role of IL-6 in the dental pulp indirect injury by gunshot. Methods: The mandible was wounded by gunshot at (961.18?8.94) m/s in 17 dogs.2 h,6 h,1 d,3 d,7 d after injury molars, caspids, and lateral incisors were sampled respectively for IL-6 detection by immunohistochemical method in dental pulp. Results: The results showed that positive staining of IL-6 was observed predominantly in infiltrating inflammatory cells, vascular endothelial cells and some fibroblasts,IL-6 expression was consistent with the recruitment and activation of inflammatory cells, and with the severity duration of pulpal tissue injury and response. IL-6 level was increased in the dental pulp 6 h~3 d after injury. Conclusion: IL-6 is involved in regulating physiologic responses of dental pulp injuries in maxillofacial trauma by a projectile.

RESUMO

Objective To summarize the experience of microsurgical repair of soft tissue defects in 136 cases with firearm wound,to probe into repairing defect methods in different parts and to improve repairing results Methods According to the location, area of soft tissue defects or special needs, dorsalis pedis flap, latissimus dorsi flap, thoracoumbilical flap, forearm flap, lateral leg flap, tensor fascia lata flap or compound tissue flap were used to repair 136 cases with soft tissue defects in the firearm wound Results All 136 cases with soft tissue defects were repaired successfully Conclusions Microsurgical technique is a good method to repair soft tissue defects and reconstruct function in the firearm wound

RESUMO

This study is based on anatomical observation and measurement of sternocleidomastoid muscle and masseterie region on 50 cadavers (totally 100 sides). It provides reliable data for clinical design and empoyment of the sternal end of the sternocleidomastoid muscle for the myocutaneous flap repair of musculoeutaneous defects in the masseterie region following firearm wounds. There has been no flap failure except minimal donor site complications in 6 patients undergoing these reconstructions. Advantages of the use of myoeutaneous flap over prevoius reconstructive methods are the availablity of dual blood supples and preservation of both motor and sensory nerve innervatoins. The successful results following these reconstructive operations showed much better restoration of mastieatory function and far earlier recovery of skin sensation.
