RESUMO

A study on the aedes lavae resource in 210 households in §èng §a district, Hµ Néi during 2-8/2001 showed that there were both two species of aedes aegypti (50.3%) and aedes albopictus (49.7%). 10 tools of water containment such as pool, can well, jar had lavae of aedes, vector of the dengue fever/ hemorrhagic dengue fever. The rate of population who had knowledge of dengue fever/ hemorrhagic dengue fever was high. However, the knowledge which disease transmission vector and proper measures for disease prevention a control was remaining limited. It should strengthen the education and communication.

RESUMO

There were 714 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever and 1 death. The age of patients from 2-10 years old, none of them over 15 years old. The morbidity of III, IV degrees concentrated in Hon Dat, Tan Hiep, An Ninh, Rach Gia and also the districts that had the greatest morbidity, 56 cases of shock. The Steering Board issued a number of guideline documents and established preventive plan right at the beginning of the year with medical speciality. There were 28 cases of Japanese encephalitis, 25 cases with the age from 13 months - 5 years old, 3 cases with the age from 6-11 years old, 64% male and 36% female. The Pasteurs Institute of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the local authority to control the disease transmission in order to isolate virus and propagate measures of mosquito killing and hygienic methods around living area.

RESUMO

An investigation of knowledge, attitude and practice of community and vector colony in 200 households in Huong tra District, Hue City and monitoring of survival ability of mesocyclops after releasing them in to water tanks. Results showed that the participation of community and use of mesocyclops in the field training reduced significantly the mosquito colony and number of patients with haemorrhagic dengue fever. The participation also increased the concepts and knowledge of people in the haemorrhagic dengue fever prevention and control the collaborators and pupils played an important role in the interim of mobilizing the contribution of community.
