RESUMO

Objective To explore the sense of coherence in female empty nest elderly and its influence on health self-management skill. Methods There were 124 female empty nest elderly collected from 2 communities in Beilun and Jiangbei District by convenience sampling between April and October 2017. The basic data questionnaire, Sense of Coherence-13 and Health Self-management Skill Scale for Adults were used to collect data. Results The score of sense of coherence was 57.64 ± 11.35, which was in the low level. The score of health self-management skill was 125.64±20.22, with the highest score in self-management cognition, lowest score in self-management behavior. The sense of coherence and comorbidity can influence the self-management behavior. The educational level, comorbidity and religion can influence the self-management cognition. The sense of coherence and live alone or not can influence the self-management environment. Conclusions Community workers should pay attention to the management of female empty nest elderly, expand their social contact, encourage and guide them to use all kinds of social resources to face the difficulties, improve the data for the elderly living alone, establish periodic condolences and follow-up system, and improve the health self-management skills.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the relationship between health self-management skill and the severity of periodontitis disease.Methods 200 periodontitis patients (periodontitis group) and 200 health controls (control group) were assessed using the rating scale of health self-management skill for adults (AHSMSRS).Results (1) The total score of AHSMSRS in periodontitis group(139.08± 13.42),was lower than that in control group (177.51±16.16),and the difference was statistically significant (t=5.29,P<0.01).(2) The number of different severity of periodontitis patients were mild 42 cases (21.0%),moderate 90 cases (45.0%),severe 68 cases (34.0%),respectively.Significant statistical differences were found in health self-management ability and each dimension (F=6.16-9.24,P<0.01).Conclusion Compared with control group,health self-management skill of periodontitis patients is lower,and it may affect the condition of periodontitis.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the effect of community health self-management which was carried out by health club. Methods A total of 163 health club members attended 6 lessons of standardized health self-management course during 3 months. The awareness rate of related healthy knowledge,self-management behavior forming rate,BMI,blood pressure, FBG and other indexes were measured before and after 3 months. Results The average awareness rate increased significantly after the project(P<0. 05). In terms of self-management behavior forming condition,the achievement rates significantly increased in aspects of"Daily exercise time longer than 30 minutes"and"Daily intake of vegetables more than 250g"(both P<0. 05). While the average diastolic pressure among 121 hypertensive participants and fasting blood -glucose value of 47 diabetic participants both decreased significantly after the project(both P<0. 05). Conclusion The effect of education on community health self-management for chronic disease prevention which carried out by health club is positive apparently. It has certain functions on blood pressure and FBG control while short-term influence on BMI has not been found.
