RESUMO
Objective To investigate the chemical constituents of Mongolia medicine Hostae Flos (Flowers of Hosta plantaginea). Methods Chemical constituents of Mongolia medicine Hostae Flos were isolated and purified by Solvent method and chromatographic method. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of physio-chemical identification and spectral analysis. Results Twelve compounds were obtained from Hostae Flos. Their structures were identified as adenosine (1), kaempferol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), kaempferol-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)- β-D-glucopyranosyl-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), kaempferol 3-O-{β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)]- β-D-glucopyranosyl}-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), kaempferol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), hydroxybenzoic acid (6), hydroxyphenyl propionate (7), kaempferol 3-O-{β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→3)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosy-(1→6)]-β-D-glucopyranoside} (8), kaempferol 3-O-{β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→6)]-β-D-glucopyranoside}(9), kaempfero-3,7-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (10), 7-methoxyl-kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside (11), and ursolic acid (12). Conclusion Compounds 2-4 and 9 are obtained from H. plamtaginea for the first time. Compounds 1, 5-8, 10-12 are isolated from the genus Hosta for the first time.
RESUMO
AIM To study the chemical constituents from Hosta plantaginea (Lam.) Aschers flowers.METHODS The aqueous extract of H.plantaginea was isolated and purified by Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC column, then the structures of obtained compounds were identified by spectral data.RESULTS Twelve compounds were isolated and identified as 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (1),4-hydroxylacetophenone (2),5,7-dimethoxy-8-rnethyl-4'-hydroxyflavan (3),5,7-dimethoxy-4'-hydroxyflavan (4),epicatechin (5),catechin (6),epigallocatechin (7),gallocatechin (8),coumaric acid (9),phenethyl-O-β-D-glucoside (10),acetophenone-4-O-β-D-glucoside (11),2-hydroxyl-6-methoxyacetophenone-4-O-β-D-glucoside (12),3,4-dihydroxycinnamyl alcohol-3-O-glucoside (13).CONCLUSION All the compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time.
RESUMO
The medicinal parts of Hosta plantaginea includes the whole plant, roots, stems, and flowers with a long history used as traditional folk herbal medicine. It has been commonly used for hundreds of years in Mongolia solely or in complex preparation for the treatment of sore throat and other diseases. However, there are few non-systemic studies on anti-inflammatory material basis, mechanisms, and quality control of H. plantaginea so far as well. The crude extracts or pure compounds from H. plantaginea showed anti-inflammatory, analgesic, cytotoxic, anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-AchE activities, etc. In addition, previous phytochemical studies on H. plantaginea have indicated that steroids, alkaloids, and flavonoids are the major constituents in this plant. In this paper, we have systematically summarized and analyzed the chemical constituents, pharmacological activities, clinical application, and quality control of folk medicine H. plantaginea, which provides the foundation for the rational use and comprehensive development of H. plantaginea.
